Concerned about handling and safety.

Says no to probably the safest SUV money can buy because of the logo on the grill.

You sure you aren't asian?

i've always liked the look of the xc90's

i went and test drove one and found that the handling was pretty good and the safety features offered were decent as well

they do admirably off road as well with a good set of tires

heres the first video of a series (6 videos) from a guy offroading his xc90.

nice to see it on dirt for a change from the city.

To be honest, if I were to pick up a proper SUV in the future for family use, it'd be an XC-series.

Otherwise 4runner for offroading only use.

if you look at the target market of buyers looking at the xc90 they're generally people who have a family and possibly an active lifestyle.

the xc90 wont rock crawl very well or fair well mudding but it'd be great for taking up the gravel road to a country cottage, lake side cabin or camping off an FSR.

there are some issues with reliability on the xc90 which is why i steered away from it but overall it does look very nice and performs admirably in the "off road" situations that it would encounter.

OP. have your folks considered getting rid of the x5 as well and going with something else entirely?

It is what it is I guess. They just don't like the look.

They have, but not at this time. They aren't prepared to spend $70/80k again on one car. So they just want to upgrade their older 3series as there is a lot of maintenance on it and a lot of stuff doesn't work. My mom loves the x5 so I don't see her selling it. She'll probably ride it until it dies.

What were you thinking though?

My parents are looking to get a new compact SUV/Cross over (in the next 6 months) and I figured I'd see if any of you work there so you can give me a discount

My friend has a fully loaded raptor. That thing is amazing. The back seats are as big as the front seats. My dad has a F150 for work though and the raptor is overkill for what he needs a truck for.

haha. I wouldn't expect a discount. It was honestly to give someone here a sale.

My parents haven't even gone yet. They were supposed to go last week, but got super busy. So they'll probably be going sometime in the new year.
Thanks again for the replies.
