2014 Silverado/Sierra http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....live628opt.jpg http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/s...ierra-Copy.jpg http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/g...m/IMG_1510.jpg http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/g...m/IMG_1568.jpg "All-new designs - inside and out All-new engines based on the Gen V V-8 (4.3L V-6, 5.3L V-8, and 6.2L V-8) The frame is fundamentally the same as the GMT-900 frame, however portions of it have been modified for added strength and modest weight savings There is only one interior option on both trucks, unlike today's two The new 4.3L V-6 will be available in any cab or trim configuration Both trucks will feature the latest Chevy MyLink and GMC IntelliLink infotainment systems - with REAL BUTTONS Length of the crew cab doors has been increased by about two inches Crew cab buyers can now opt for a 6.5-foot bed, a new wheelbase for GM All engines, including the V-6, have: direct fuel injection, variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management Z71 now includes Rancho shocks, skid plates and an auto locking rear differential Four-wheel disc brakes are standard on all trims, and are coated with Duralife" I found that on GMinsidenews Your opinion on the next generation GM trucks? I really like the Silverado, The Sierra is nice also but I think the Silverado looks much better especially if you can get one with less chrome. |
I like the Sierra better. although I'm biased since I own one, but I think the body and interior looks better. I'll be up for a new truck in about 4 years so maybe the new look will grow on me? I actually think the 2012 interior looks WAY better then the 2014 model :p |
I've always liked the Sierra. However, that new interior... :heckno: |
Ya don't know what they were thinking on the 2014... my 2012 interior. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8496/8...ae770f8e_c.jpg |
I prefer the interior of the Silverado to the Sierra, and functionally speaking, they both look great. Aesthetically though, it's just very awkward feeling, especially compared to the previous gens. Overall though, the Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn has the best interior looking in the full-size truck class. The exteriors of both the Silverado and Sierra are excellent, and they are my hands down favourites of all the full-size trucks. Ford goes through radical exterior redesigns frequently, Dodge also makes pretty significant changes albeit well executed, but Chevy and GMC only make very nice subtle tweaks so the trucks age very well. The 4.3L V6 is rumored to beat out the Ford EcoBoost in every respect, except maybe modification ability since it lacks turbos; more torque, more horsepower, better fuel efficiency, and fewer parts to break or wear out. |
I wonder when exactly they will be delivered to dealer's, when I worked for GM as a lot boy a year ago they had a few Volt's at least a month or so before the release date to show the salesmen how to use them etc, and hid them under car covers and also barricaded them in with other cars in the back of the lot so nobody could see |
Interior is way to busy |
meh to both... the only truck i would ever buy is this... Tundra would come a close second http://cdn.tundraheadquarters.com/bl...rgueFlite8.jpg http://newcarset.com/wp-content/uplo...-1-611x439.jpg dat hemi sound :sweetjesus: |
Hopefully, with the new sierra/silverado GM will release a 4500/5500 class 4/5 truck based on the sierra/silverado cab like Ford and Dodge are doing |

those were 2009 MY trucks maybe they have addressed and or fixed that problem but if not :heckno: otherwise I do like the Tundra |
Would be nice if these half-tons had diesel engine options, a nice 3 liter would be more than enough. I borrowed a friends sierra 5.3L and I struggled to get 300kms on a tank in the city. Can't imagine driving that everyday. |
new front ends look fucking sick, never really been a chevy guy myself but the newer body styles are growing on me however, the fucking truck Guage cluster/AC etc have been the same for the last like 15 years! lol |
That thing looks like shit inside and out, and if the 4.3 is anything like the one in my S10, STAY THE FUCK AWAY. |
I've never liked the Chev/GMC trucks. I always preferred the Dodge or even the Ford. I do agree with MindBomber that they age well for not having radical styling changes, but that new interior is a step back in terms of an "upgrade". |
The Chevy engines seem to be lagging behind, Where's the EcoBoost competitor? The 5.3 only makes 320HP, The equivilant ford 5.0 makes 360HP... I'm not biased, The family all own Chevy's, We used to own (all bought new) a 94 suburban, An 00 Suburban, and an 06 Suburban, They were all sluggish and didnt like to work hard. However, With that said, They were incredibly reliable, And AMAZING in deep (2+feet) of snow. I guess the jury's out on the Ford's reliability. (We've only owned the '12 F150 for 3 months now) |

The 4.3L isn't the old 350 with 2 cylinders chopped off anymore. Quote:

GM's horrible interior is back! |

I'm not sure how I feel about this. That Interior is.... um.. different? |
This is how i feel: Ram's interior is the nicest, Ford's truck is the "best" (Opinions again, people, we all can have them) and the Chevy has the best heritage. |
The front end looks like it could gobble up a of couple adults. |
Like the Malibu failure, their brand new truck is already behind the current models from the competition and it won't help that the new f150 is due in mid 2014 and is considered to be a 'game changer'. |
How could such a bold assessment be made when GM, crucially, has not released engine information aside from displacement offerings? The 'game-changer' F150 redesign will be interesting to see, but Ford needs to absolutely nail the design for it to be successful and they have a very touch and go history. The axles, brakes, and various other components that are under load are being re-designed to save weight, and thereby increase fuel economy; I definitely wouldn't want to touch the first couple model years of an experiment like that... |
the hemi rams haul ass too, driven couple before and it can whoop some ass |
it's no F-150 |
