SOLUTION HERE

You need to cycle the batt a few time to get a true reading. Also turn off gps, nfc and google apps. I camt remember the name but there is one especially bad one by google.

What leads you to believe that your battery is draining too fast? What is your expected drain over that period of time? You are comparing a 10% loss during non-usage to your friends who are getting 1-2 days battery life over overall use? Sounds like a valid comparison to me :suspicious:

What's the remaining up time from 84% to fully depleted?

Verdasco 01-09-2013 10:06 PM

dude... you slept and woke up which probably is 8 hours average. Could of just charged it while sleeping :troll:

Losing 10% over night sounds normal to me. If it bothers you so much, you can turn off your phone when you sleep at night.

Turn wifi/data off when you aren't using it. turn power saving on (still very responsive). turn screen brightness down and download advanced task killer.

SupraTTturbo2jz 01-09-2013 10:59 PM

Seems like alot compared to my iphone or gnex while they lose only 2 percent or something during the night.

It would help if you told us whether you were on LTE. And a screen shot of the battery-usage graph would help as well.

You also haven't described your typical usage. The more info you give us the better idea we can get to see whether you have a faulty phone.

draining 10% for 8 hours is a bit much IMO............I have the rogers version and it only drains 5-7%.

What drained the battery the most was Rogers visual voicemail, it keeps on syncing preventing the phone to go into sleep mode. Drained %15-20% in 8 hours while I was asleep.

Solution: Root, flash cleanrom.
My phone drained 3% last night over a span of 7.5 hours

With minimal usage I've hit over 3 days of standby on this thing

smart phones (especially big ass screens) will drain much more than what you're used to. If i'm surfing the web on my Gnex non stop, full charge drains in 5 hours. Like previously mentioned, disable features you don't need, also download Juice Defender, you can gain 40% in battery efficiency. Just the free version is fine

Screen brightness always on full is going to drain your battery fast.

rk604 01-12-2013 01:40 PM

if your phone is new, it could be syncing and downloading stuff from the app store in the background. turn off wifi?

m3thods 01-12-2013 03:34 PM

Those graphs look good to me. Your substantial drops associate with awake and screen on time.

I'd let the battery settle with a few more charges and go from there.

GF's dad's first phone did that (wouldn't charge past 50%).

Learned it was a bad battery. So try the factory reset, otherwise look at the battery.
