Whats a good license plate number ?

I am going to purchase my first car and I have the option of getting a license plate number that I would like but im not sure what numbers to get. Any suggestions ?

are you talking about custom plate?
why waste $200?

and I don't know about you, but personally I(and most people) don't like having a number that is so easy to be remembered by people.

I personally don't find license plate numbers a big deal. It's just three digits and three letters that go on the front and back of your car, not like people will be calling you by these digits. And I don't think you can make up your own combination...you choose from a list of available ones..

My mom seems to think otherwise though. She stuck with her _ _ _ 933 plate for almost 15 years because it was easy to remember. When the time for me to get my own insurance came, she wanted me to get 123 because it was available and easy to remember..but I ended up getting something else.

My insurance guy is giving me a temporary plate and I can give him a few plate numbers that I would like and he will source it out and swap it for me.

Something I wanted to ask for a while but didn't want to start a new thread. Is there an insurance renewal place with a collection of nice plates? I know high end car dealerships go to certain places to get nice plates like 000 or 123. Is there one for renewals?

What's with the hate and the fag comments. It's not like the OP is getting a silly custom plate with his name on it like WANG.

He's just asking for opinions for some numbers or letters.

OP: not much point since most dealers won't have too many to pick from and they're usually obscure numbers or letters.

You answered your own question.

You can always choose your own number. Just have to wait for either your insurance guy to find it or you find it yourself. Choosing the letters is the almost impossible one.

I went to 8 different insurance place to find NSX

Any thing that is hard to remember is good in my opinion.
If something happens and its an easy to remember You can get into trouble.
Like road rage or anything. Just a different angle to look at it.

You can pick up a phone directory and start calling different Autoplan offices in your area to see what series they have. And tell them to hold the one you want. If looking for a specific number.
And if you know an agent then They can get you hard to find numbers like 888, 000,007 etc as when ever an office receives a shipment of plates they take nice numbers out for their clients.

kinni420 01-11-2013 04:55 PM

Plates you can change Any time...even after renewal and its $18. just keep looking for the nice number.
