Won't be faster for base model since we are already getting lots of options compare to European models. Custom options just mean they pick your options from their parts bins..

Yeah, No.

It takes longer, the sunroof is back-ordered and cars won't even be in production till January for the sunroof.

CLA45 configurator is now live! A fully loaded one costs $66k.....
For that same price, i'd rather have a fully loaded 335i or even an S4.

CLA 45 driving dynamics is much better than the 435i or S4. and those $2300 recaro seats.... S4 is looking very outdated, even after the mini facelift

Why did MB choose to go with that style for the Nav/Head units? Hideous.

I agree, the A4/A5 both need a refresh. My A5 lease is up in March, not sure what to get as a replacement seeing how the current A5 isn't much different.

I heard something about them wanting to make it look like a tablet (even though it's not removable to use as one) That's the one thing in the car that look hideous to me, on the verge of being a deal breaker if I were looking to buy one now.

Apparently there's two 'tablet' versions.. The highline that looks like a ipad mini (thinner bezel). The standard one looks like a Android tablet from 3 years ago with 1" thick bezels...

i think what you mean is if you get the navi, you get the 7in version. if your COMAND doesnt come with navi, its the standard 5in screen thus thicker border.

^Ahh, might have gotten it confused with the Aussie-spec cars. I'm pretty sure there's a standard NAV and a premium NAV in our market based on the screen size.

I agree with the S4 looking outdated, to an extent, since it's been around for a while, and the CLA45 AMG is a brand-new model.

However, not sure about what you said about the "driving dynamics" being much better than the 435i or the S4, because what you said was very far "fetched".

Just curious if you have had hands-on experience with the CLA45 AMG (which isn't even out yet in Canada to the best of my knowledge), maybe read some reviews from trusted car sites (which I could not find for S4/435i/CLA45 AMG comparisons), or, just an assumption?

I've test driven the CLA 250, the car is very nimble and extremely fun to drive. The car is very grounded and has a very "BMW" like driving feedback through the chassis and steering response. I haven't driven a CLA 45 yet, but based on reviews I've seen recently, it's definitely going to be a great car. I would agree with the consensus that the centre navigation console is bloody hideous, but this is the direction MB is going for with their New Generation of Compact Cars(NGCC) line-up, I would think the future GLA would follow the unfortunate footsteps as well. If you think about it from a buyers prospective, this car definitely has broad appeal, from 1 - 4 series buyers to A3 to A5 buyers and not to mention taping into the EVO and STI market.

I've driven B8 A4 and S4, let's just say I sold my manual A4 within a year of ownership based on the extreme boring drive "feel". My S4 test drive didn't feel much different as I was very disconnected with the road and steering response was lacking. Then I went for the 335i, which I absolutely loved. The reason why I'm saying this car has better driving dynamics than the 435i is because it is made and engineered by AMG division, just like I'm a believer in the M-division. I didn't mention interior, technology, or design. Just the overall driving dynamics. I made the comparison only to express my opinion from a previous post. I guess we'll wait for the reviews to really validate CLA 45's achievement, or therefore a lack of.

This should give you a perspective. A45 AMG vs M135i.

The AMG with normal tires beat out the 135i with cup tires.
