arrrrgggghhhhh some cretin has destroyed a 1977 Lotus Esprit in a tasteless attempt to make it look "better" or "newer"

@Twitchy I'll admit that it's well executed, not a botched DIY job but seeing such a classic car updated like that, I dunno, it just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I love the look of those cars and it's kind of an attainable bucket list car for me.

I'm sure the designer that drew up the Esprit didn't plan on the big afterthought of a bumper that made it to production. And the 1977 N America version of an S1 would be even bigger.
$24G is lots for a toy, I wonder if it sold.

Usually an ICBC report will have a separate line that says "TOTAL LOSS" as a result of it being written off.
