Help building Desktop 6 yrs old Comeputer died today, is it possible to build a computer suppports following, Budget is 400. Hoping someone can list avvaiable parts from NCIX or memory express Things will need: Power supply Ram Motherboard Video card Use for browsing, gaming (hopefully highest resolution settting)as DOTA 2, HON, or diablo 3 Just purchased window 8 and hoping to run that as well Posted via RS Mobile |
what CPU you have? or you wanting to upgrade that also, which is probably better, being a 6year machine... |
2 Attachment(s) ]Go with an AMD build... good value for money. I've seen A10 or FX bundles (CPU + motherboard) for around $200. 8GB of RAM ought to be quite cheap. Same goes for a decent 600W PSU. You will need to add more money for a videocard capable of playing games at full graphic options, though the listed games are not too demanding. Look for a Tahiti LE-version AMD 7870, provides almost the same performance of a 7950 for ~$220 on sale. Here's a sample loadout. There is a $20 MIR on the videocard and $10 on the PSU. Comes in around $500 but it will last for a while. You can go cheaper by going with a lesser videocard, say a GTX650Ti around $140. Thx for the replies, will thank later Posted via RS Mobile |
You could also look into the some of the Intel deals on the site if you want to side with Intel. I also agree with roastpuff about increasing your budget range so you have more breathing room with the components to improve on the gaming experience; not also that, but for current and the future. What size monitor do you have? |
Just to put it in perspective, my AMD Phenom II x4 3200+ with ATI HD5850 can play those games at max settings on 1920x1080. |
Pick Parts, Build Your PC, Compare and Share - PCPartPicker Canada ^ This site helped me get some cheap parts.... and stay organized. I also use: www.Shopbot.ca to find cheap parts or to compare parts for price match. |
definitely possible under 400, but sacrificing that ability to play at max settings. above mentioned MSI GTX650ti is at $130. instead of the $530 price tag, that pretty much brings you within your budget of $425. however, downgrading from a 7870 to a 650ti might be regretable considering price/performance. |
