Minor bump, but Roam has just tripled the data on all their plans while keeping the same price plans! |
Yup. Just got the email too. |
Is data limited to 300MB per day? I use T-Mobile. I think it's $3 per day for unlimited talk, text, and data however, it says you get up to 200MB on 3G data then the rest is 2G, however, I've never been bumped down to 2G. Maybe once. |
No. For instance if you buy a 3 day package you can use 150 on day 1, 600 on day 2, and 150 on day 3, you aren't limited to 300 per day. Roam is more flexible for those who don't frequent the US, since the sim has a 365-day expiry vs much less for the T-Mobile sim. |
Enjoy the new data rates! http://www.roammobility.com/blog/ann...ith-more-data/ http://www.roammobility.com/media/wy...ata_Update.png |
For me I'd probably just use the data only option with either Fongo or my VOIP provider to make or receive calls. Returning my work iPhone. Sick of iOS 7. |
Roam has data 2GB/30days for $30. Damn that's incredible. Wish I could take a 30 day vacation to the US.... |

I use T-Mobile in the states as well... its actually 4G (Non LTE/HSPA+) for the first 300MB then it bumps you down to 3G (HSPA). You of all people should know that 2G (GSM/GPRS) doesn't carry data well. lol. ;) used it for a whole month, did at least 500 megs of data transfer/day, never let me down once. |
I don't get it. :derp: |
If you haven't jumped on Roam Mobility yet... You can send in any old sim and receive a new one SIM Swap Program - Roam Mobility |

Data wasn't reliable when I was using Roam Mobility. Texts and calls were good though |

Wonder if I can just drop the sim card off at their Richmond office  |

I got my free roam sim. Took s little over a week. |
I went to USA for extended periods and used "Simple Mobile." $40 a month and it was unlimited USA calls, unlimited international texts and data. It was great in NY and major cities but when I was sent to central USA and to small towns I'd get no reception. It was great around any city but I was on a blackberry so speed was never a factor for me. I could renew very easily online or via phone but you must have an American CC with USA address. Yes certain areas would be 2g but since I was on a BB I didn't even notice/care. |
sounds sweet. . got a spare sim sitting around, going to to the states for a couple of nights in december :fullofwin: |
just a heads up, the the sim swap program ends on the 30th. anything postmarked after that won't be processed. |

so I lost my "Simple Mobile" sim and was going to the states for a few days. Had to buy one of these. $20 for the sim and then $13 for the 3 days worth of talk/text/data. Unfortunately it doesn't work with my BB 9900 (no BIS) but will work with my Z10. 700MB is ok for 3 days but I ordered another Simple Mobile sim and am going to guard it much better. Reception was sketchy while driving but I was in the mountains so understandable. It was fine around downtown Seattle. |
