Tmobile, ATT or Roam Mobility prepaid sims?

Trying to find some information with the sim cards to get. Is there a point to get more than one sim for all of US or one for each location?

I was looking at Roam Mobility, it is apparently a subsidy of Tmobile, their sim costs $20 bucks and this one gives a generic US number.

Where do you guys buy Tmobile micro sims? anyone local?

Might be easier for you to cut the regular US prepaid SIM card down to Micro sim size than to looking for US prepaid carriers selling you micro SIM cards..

would i still be able to get 4g speeds........the sims have to support it right?

lilaznviper 02-03-2013 07:55 PM

i've been using roam mobility everytime i go down to the states without any problems. when i wanted to get a us sim from tmobile they said that it will expired within 60 days if i don't use it vs roam mobility which will expire after a year of not using it.

I got my T-Mobile micro at a T-Mobile store. Just look it up the closest one to you.

And for T-Mobile, you need the $100 refill plan for it to last a year.

You can only buy tmobile sims in the states. If you check Craigslist sometimes you'll see some people sell them. I bought a Roam Mobility sim to use in the states but never bothered to activate it since I was able to use my work phone. NA dataplan ftw.

Go to the phone shop in RMD by Superstore. They sell the t mobile sim there. Cost a little more but hey you get them here working. T mobile don't support 3G iPhone only edge or 4g, I think.

you can buy a T Mobile starter kit shipped to PR or something if you dont go down to seattle enough.

i've used T-mobiles $3 a day unl US text talk and data, its wonderful.

Roam Mobility is a Canadian owned and NOT operated by T-Mobile. HQ is right here in Richmond

There is 3G is select cities in the US for your iPhones, eg. Seattle, LA, Vegas..basically major metropolitan cities

$20 gets you a permanent US number. as said above, it expires after one year from the last plan purchased. so if you use it at least once a year, you will have no problem.

Unlimited Talk/Text to US and Canada. 100mb/day

Biggest advantage is the permanent US number and the calling/texting back to Canada.

I use it everytime I go to the US. works like a charm. I dont feel disconnected.

Many resellers here guys

Man, that sounds amazing

extracrunchie 02-04-2013 04:51 AM

Can you direct me to a reseller?

It just felt so inconvenient without being able to search for things when you are in the US.

Interesting. I was going to suggest for people who just need to use the data portion when they are in the states to pick up those portable wireless hotspots such as the Verizon Jetpack.

I was in Seattle not to long ago, and my friend had one of these handy devices on them. Made my life so much easier when attempting to navigate via GPS.

or you could buy a stand alone app with all the maps stored on your phone. EG: Tomtom or Navigon.

willystyle 02-04-2013 04:56 PM

You could get ROAM Mobility at any authorized dealers locally. Check out the list on the website.

lilaznviper 02-05-2013 02:43 PM

True but once you go Google navigation, you never go back. That said, Google navigate has failed to get me to certain destinations properly or driving into 1 way streets weird right hand turns off exiting high speed Highway ramps, etc.

Google Navigation is awesome. I used to use Tomtom and Navigon too, but the maps are not as accurate as Google, and has given me directions to exit into a concrete side wall on the I-5 due to the major highway upgrades taking place right now.

Vansterdam 02-05-2013 04:43 PM

^ has happened to me even with tomtom/navigon

google navigation is DOPE if you have GPS on your phone.once you have offline maps saved/enabled

you can have your data/phone off and it will still work if you have GPS

willystyle 02-05-2013 04:45 PM

^ Damn, I need to try that.

Vansterdam 02-05-2013 04:57 PM

google maps is a part of google navigation right?

Tim Budong 06-20-2013 10:57 PM
