Can anybody give me an overview of cv joints ?

- safety percautions
- estimate for parts and labour

i cant help you with your question... but.. are these split cv joint boots any good in link below?? sorry to hi jack your thread but thought it would be better to post this here then to make a new thread

overview on safety precautions on how to replace? Better on on replacing the whole drive shaft. Less mess, easier, quicker and probably around the same price.

never used split boots but the thought of them looks like they're sure to leak. I wouldn't use them

ur probbly looking 250-300 more or less for parts and labor. precautions? i think u still wanna drive ur car even though a mechanic told u to replace them. i recommend replacing it as soon as u can.

lordco has then usually for 100-150 bucks but you have to give your broken one to them.
