Favourite pho restaurants?

I went back 6 pages and couldn't find a thread. I swear I remember there being one... maybe it's been inactive for too long. Either that, or I'm just blind.

Anyways.
What're your guys' favourite pho restaurants for the standard beef noodle soup? :fullofwin:

Pho Thai Hoa on Kingsway/King Ed is hands down my favourite. Whenever I try a new place, it just doesn't measure up.
I don't know if that's because I'm simply too used to to Thai Hoa's broth or whatever other reason.

What about you guys? :nyan:

Le do for pho.

Will try there in a couple hours. :)

Never going back to Pho Thai Hoa ever again.. Went there the last time and they forgot to make my vermicelli noodles until I reminded them, they also forgot the salad rolls I ordered and still put them on the bill :seriously:. And the guy who works there has terrible service as well. You should definitely try My Chau though, which is a block down from Pho Thai Hoa.

Pho Lan in Richmond. A bit too dirty for some people but :sweetjesus:

+1 for Thai Son in Richmond. Their lemon grass chicken on broken rice is pretty good as well.

Yeah the service at Pho Thai Hoa is pretty bad, but I don't really expect anything too glamorous from the average Asian restaurant anyway. I've had the waitress take my order while she was on the phone once. Their good soup makes up for the bad service.

I'll definitely try My Chau next time. I've been going to Pho Thai Hoa to satisfy my cravings, but I thought I'd see what other places RS members recommend.

I've tried many around the area. Pho Tan (Main/30), Pho Quyen (Fraser/23), Pho Van (Fraser/17th?ish).

They're all decent, but I find their noodles to be too mushy and the broth to be too bland.

Or maybe I've just grown too accustomed to Thai Hoa's rich soup and chewier noodles.

Living by Metrotown, I usually hit up the one next to Bubble World. I go there often, so one of the employees always recognizes me. Decent size and broth, but my friend doesn't like it saying it tastes like carrot soup?

The one in Crystal Mall (Green Bamboo) has massive portions, but the broth is a little watery. I usually go there when I'm starving like a motherfuck and taste is my second concern.

Then there used to be the one in the IGA square across Crystal Mall called Pho Century. They moved a dozen blocks down towards Edmonds, and the food is still great. I used to go there a lot during high school (I went to Moscrop).

Lastly, I find Pho Hong has the best bang for your buck between taste and portion sizes. They throw in a lot of meat! But the place is usually packed during meal time and isn't the cleanest. Service is shotty as well.

saw a rat in thai hang running on the top ceiling, never going there again

my list is lam hoa quan, hoi an, au petit cafe, and pho hoang

I actually really liked What the pho when I was in seattle, although I've heard other people say it wasn't that good.

Locally, bao chau has always consistently had great pho.

Hai Phong is alright. I'm finding their service is really lacking. Maybe it was an off day, or their kids not really putting in the effort.
