I just got this one, the Incipio Dualpro CF for my htc one. It feels super sturdy.

Does anyone know when 4.2 is gonna roll out on this thing?

icemiko 08-09-2013 12:05 PM

For the people that have this, would you recommend it and why?

I read the entire thread and reviews online but would like to hear what you guys have to say. I am thinking of replacing my S3 with the One.

I don't own a One, but my sister does so I have access to it almost daily.

Things the One has over the S3 (which I still own):

- build quality. Now I've flip-flopped on this recently and do appreciate that the S3 won't dent/crack/etc. But something about aluminium in the hand to me still screams superior build quality.

- the screen. It's actually readable in sunlight. That said, blacks do not match the S3's amoled.

- it's fast. noticeably faster than the S3 stock. Running slimbean on my s3 however has reduced that apparent performance gap.

- since it's skinnier, it's more ergonomic to me to use the One than the S3.

To me, the only benefit that I'd trade my S3 in for is the screen in sunlight. However taking into account everything else, I've decided it's not quite worth the hassle for me to switch.

I have the one and I've been using it since June.

Build quality is top notch if that's on your priority list.
External speakers are excellent and very loud.
The screen is amazing. But coming from 720p amoled you might find color saturation to be lower than what you're used to.
Battery life isn't a huge factor as it easily gets me through an entire day. Off the charger by 530 and still have between 30-40% by 1030pm.

what Rom is everyone using?

I've just got the HTC one, it's been awhile since I rooted + flashed a rom, can someone point me to a thread on XDA? none of them seem to be directed at Canadian versions of the HTC one...

edit: is this the thread people are using? http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2242635

!Yaminashi 08-13-2013 08:05 PM

I'm still stock. Although there are a few small things I dislike with sense, most of the features I happen to like

Kamui712 08-13-2013 08:06 PM

^ agreed, i love the HTC camera app

phone is great on stock HTC, all i want is the jelly bean camera as well so I can do photosphere's

roughmandamn 08-23-2013 06:58 AM

Your looking at the wrong forum. Refer to XDA HTC One General section

I've used quite a few so far. Sense5/Google Edition/Cynogen/Paranoid Android. So far the PAC Man series has been great. SentinalROM's for rock solid stability and battery life, Google Edition... for Google I guess.

Currently I'm on Excelsus One, the audio output on this is just sick.

I recently did the complete Google Edition conversion (on 4.3) on my Rogers device, and I'm liking it so far. The full conversion makes me eligible for Google Edition OTA updates.

I realized I never used any of the HTC specific features, and saw no advantage to sticking with it. Battery life is more or less the same once I turned off the new WiFi always scanning enabled by default in 4.3.

Is there any way to unlock my phone without having to press the power button? I don't want to keep pressing the power button and wearing it out.

I lock my phone though a lock screen widget right now.

Perhaps this will work for you if you are rooted.

Shameless plug - Getting a new HTC One with a new contract tomorrow, anyone looking for one please msg me.

Nismo200SX 09-12-2013 09:20 PM

Is anyone having the issue with the video camera at night going all purple on the screen. But if its manually set to a low ISO taking photos is fine it doesn't go ISO crazy and go purple. There seems to be a long thread on XDA about this issue so if it starts happening to you maybe HTC will address the issue.

yogenfruz 09-14-2013 08:00 PM

Just saw that Wind is carrying the One now. Might be good once my contract with TELUS runs out

Does anyone know if the Wind One has a different model number than the ones sold through RoBelus? Interested in picking up a One, but I want to make sure I'm getting the right version.

I have the Wind HTC One, the model # is: PN07130 which is the same as the T-Mobile version.

The RoBelus HTC One will not work on Wind since it does not have AWS frequency.

4.3 update for bell is out

PeanutButter 09-30-2013 08:18 PM

If you update to 4.3, will you lose all your files/settings/apps?

Anyone know?

PS. I'm stock everything.

You shouldn't lose anything if it is an OTA update. Make sure you have drop box to back up your files and settings.

Zordon 10-01-2013 01:34 PM

Does anyone have a Rogers HTC one that is rooted? I'm wondering if anyone has sucessfully updated their roger's firmware as custom ROMs do not contain firmware...

I know it requires S-OFF but i haven't found a correct file to update the firmware without losing LTE etc.

Nismo200SX 10-08-2013 03:54 PM

Just be careful with the 4.3 OTA it uses a different file system so all your old files will be moved to a new location on the internal SD card.

OR

Like me the OTA update bricks the phone and it needs to be sent in for Repair.

They said that the camera issue of the AUTO Exposure overriding everything causing a purple noise will be fixed soon.

It bricked when you updated? 100% stock? I better not recommend that to my wife, she has bad luck with technology.

For anyone else that is rooted or running a custom ROM, i decided to go SUPERCID and changed my CID so that I can update firmware etc. I also went S-OFF in order to change the CID.
