Work hard, get some job and financial security. Then get that Ferrari or take vacations around the world and all that.

Except, not as fun when you're old..........

Check out my sig.

If I only knew then, what I know now.

I so love when diesel_test starts threads. It lets me know when the mental institution is letting their patients on out day visits.

But I definitely agree, auto movement of funds helps huge.

ditto.

i may not be able to do as much as mr.happysilp...but every monday night at midnight i have an auto transaction from my chequins account to a seperate savings account.

its not much...doesnt kill my bank account...but every year its saved up 5200$ that i didnt even realize i had.

my reason for saving money is my brother though...after seeing how easily he went into debt, i dont ever want to be put in a situation where im broke or simply have to say "i cant go to the bar with you guys tonight, im broke till next payday".

Haha so true. Where is the meme with "Buy car to go to work. Go to work to pay off car."?

Nobody buys anything they can afford anymore. I wonder how much the average person pays in interest through credit cards, loans, mortgage, etc. throughout their whole life.

Oh, did anyone know that bankruptcy only takes 3 years now to be deleted off your credit history? Build credit rating to the best, borrow $500,000, declare bankruptcy. Win.

tiger_handheld 02-21-2013 08:34 PM

iKayChow 02-21-2013 09:18 PM

Save money for a down payment? But besides that, use it all! Never know eh, you might die the next day.

Came in expecting serious thread, and it's created by diesel_test.
I am disappoint.
But to answer the question: to save for house

RevYouUp 02-21-2013 11:25 PM

I know what diesels trying to say, I mean everyone tries to follow the same system...

work hard --> save for down payment on house --> spend life paying for house --> give house to children when you're dead

Kinda depressing when you write it out. I know it's cheesy but, YOLO lol.

StylinRed 02-22-2013 12:23 AM

Half of it goes to my rents, they don't need it but I feel like it's the right thing to do, my mom says she just saves it for me, and I save about a quarter of the other half and waste the rest on things for myself and family

I was just giving an example -_- but that's what I generally do. If you don't see the money then you can't spent right? That was my point. It might be tough the first few months but afterward it is really easy and your lifestyle will adjust. It might not seem much when you first started but we all have to start somewhere.

But yes, I do agree. I rather enjoy my life to the fullest at one point, then commit to something, save, and realized i lost a good part of my youth.

I know I'm not gonna get shit from mine... why the fuck are other's unfortunates so funny to you? You were raised with everything handed to you and expect a stash of cash at your parents death bed?

Don't get do but hurt, Mr butthurt

Exactly. Once you have kids, your life becomes all about them (for the most part.)

Balance. Have fun when you're young; just don't take on any consumer debt.
