Inaii 03-01-2013 11:32 AM

I've got it set to record on my pvr :D I'm excited for it!

quasi 03-04-2013 08:28 PM

You guys watch? Kind of lack luster opening episode but I'll give it a chance.

Inaii 03-04-2013 08:37 PM

I was only half watching it since I was playing a game, but I liked it. Not super amazing, but definitely going to be left on the pvr :)

One thing that always gets to me is how, no matter what period or where they are, they will always use people with English accents to portray the characters.

rsx 03-11-2013 10:34 PM

victory!

MindBomber 03-11-2013 11:20 PM

Love it, "The Bible" is very enjoyable too.

And I'm generally disinterested in television.

(please, excuse the nerdy response)

Logically though. Olde English, German, Scandinavia dialects are entirely unrecognizable to contemporary layperson audiences, whether written or spoken. Accuracy therefore not possible, British English is as suitable a substitution as any of the viable alternatives. The first minute of "The History of English" illustrates the reasoning nicely...

An Olde English reading, useful if you're unfamiliar with the degree of difference.

m3thods 03-12-2013 07:40 AM

Unrelated to the show, but thanks for the explanation. After listening in on the second video, I definitely could tell it's not German (at least not the most common dialect we hear), but if you didn't tell me it was olde English I would've guessed a Scandanavian language. Time for me to read up some more!

It's getting better, I'll keep watching for this season.

Anyone else think that Ragnar could pass for Jax from Sons of Anarchy's Viking brother?

I find this show has been picking up every episode. I went from on the fence to waiting for the next episode.

Zedbra 04-12-2013 10:57 AM

I agree!

Caught up with this show this weekend, it's much better than I expected it to be! It's a good show I can watch while doing something else and still enjoy it.

GLOW 04-15-2013 09:06 AM

only seen the 1st episode, looks good. dat shield maiden...
:megusta:

murd0c 04-15-2013 10:11 AM

The last episode is great, I like how they are stating to show how ruthless the Vikings are but not really to help the story line. It was so kinda akward watching them eat at the kings table and the looks on the faces when in history everyone ate that way lol

604STIG 04-15-2013 03:22 PM

Just watched the first 4 episodes, not bad.

Agree 100%. Took a few eps to get into it, now I'm hooked. Glad season 2 is confirmed

SkinnyPupp 02-27-2014 08:28 PM

Season 2 starts tonight! :awwyeah:

Neva 02-27-2014 11:53 PM

Love this show but not sure if I should watch as it airs, like last season, or wait and marathon it...

How was the premier?

Zedbra 02-28-2014 06:19 AM

I liked the premier - leaves you wanting to see more. Some shows are best marathoned, but this series is easy enough to break up weekly.

neggo 03-14-2014 08:12 AM

Just felt like I needed to bump because season 2 has become quite epic. The preview for next week's episode looks awesome!

GLOW 03-14-2014 08:33 AM

i'm caught up and want to know what happens to the shield maiden and bjorn.
i'm surprised so much time has passed in the storyline

GLOW 03-23-2014 04:27 PM

i've been keeping up with it. must say i've been enjoying season 2 as well as season 1
