is dota 2 a dead game? It took like 4 mins for me to join a matchmaking game.

Also poeple who were on my team doesn't buy wards or call missing or say anything in chat?...

How can i make sure i dont get matched onto retards or peopel who doesnt speak?

I go back to play HON and it took like 2mins to get a game started as well as all people seem to know how to play or support/ warding,/ upgrading courier..etc or even carry TP to port in help

I usually only like to play with 2-4 friends. Less chances of getting retards lol.

I think Dota 2 does not have as much player population as other ones like LoL or HoN. I know LoL has a lot of tournments, and it appears that Dota 2 has more tournament activities and live events than HoN. It is far from dead, dude.

I try to play only with friends but barely ever 5 man.

Whenever you get teamed up with Russians or Mexicans, it's pretty much GG for you.

i went back to playing hon, its more interactive, my last 3 dota games are like a 1v5 solo turtle farming game.. boring as hell. No one pings and talks and had to buy my own wards too

If anyone wants to play with me let me know! I'm not great, but I'm GENERALLY not a feeder. The games where I get low KD is most likely due to me being support and saving many teammates but end up dying.

jeebus, didn't play dota in so long. I should really pick it up again. To the veterans: what do you guys think of this new dota compared to dota on WC?

It takes me 1-2 min to connect to a game but I have 360 wins. The more games you win and the less reports you have, the faster you connect to games. You also play against players your own level. It's a pretty intelligent and fair system if you ask me.

If you are bitching about being paired with noobs and ragers, you are probably one yourself. You have to earn your way high matchmaking priority.

I assume you are already filtering your games by country? Even then sometimes not everybody speaks English. Just deal with it, like we did in grade school. Even when English isn't their Native tongue, most know the basic dota commands. I'd like to think people are smarter than perceived. If they don't listen they either suck or don't like you.

I narrow it down to US West on the filter. Still get poeple who doesnt communicate (call missing, ping for help, ..etc)

Yeah, I get those people, too. The only one you can count on is yourself. I try to do my own due diligence and always look at my mini map.

With regards to earning you way up.

You still have to deal with the idiots at your level and hope that they are better than the other team to move up with wins.

You can't just 1 vs 5 the entire team.

oh, so matchmaking will not match me up with higher level players?, I find that in HON, sometimes you will get matched with 1 or 2 who are really high and 3 mediocre or beginners,.. It balances out the team that way. But at least it is not all 5 noobies trying to figure things out on their own..... no one will voice anything then, it becomes like a RPG farming game.

carry heroes are less 1 dimensional.... for e.g troll isn't a two button right click hero anymore... they added some slows and nukes on him, tweaked his ult a bit.

colors are more vibrant

queueing system is better and more automated

punishment system is harsh. you can't trash talk the other team... if you do one player just has to report you and you're muted in game for 1 day

better graphics, no more limitations with wc3 engine.

Never really played Dota that intensively :lol. Just went pubstomping most of the times to try to find a better build or better suited hero for myself. The last few heros I remember using were Night stalker, Lycanthrope, Undying, and Pandaren. Always wanted to try out Doom and Pit lord, so might give them a try when I start Dota 2.

There is no Pitlord and Abaddon right now I think. I liked those 2 heroes and couldn't find them. Not sure if there are any other heroes missing.
