Paying violation ticket late

I have a violation ticket due March 8, 2013. I am just wondering what are the consequences if I were to pay the ticket late because I am running short on money. I am more than happy to pay it but my next pay cheque comes in March 15/16.

Anyways, I am just wondering what options I have. If there's nothing I can do about it then I'll just pay it.

If you pay within 30 days, you get a $25 discount from the price shown on the face. After the 30 days, it shows on your record, regardless of whether or not you've paid. You will have to pay for it before you renew your licence (and/or your insurance?). You can use a credit card (delays the cash issue) at licencing centres if you have one.

Not 100%, but I think its all the same as before, except the $25 off for early payment.

In saying that, if its been several months since the JJP gave you that due date, you've likely had at least 18 months to start saving money for the chance that you would be convicted for the offence(s). In the words of one of our local traffic JJPs, "If you know you're of limited income and you dispute the ticket, start saving anyways because disputing the ticket isn't a guarantee that you won't have to pay".
