F word is awesome.

Was flipping channels at my sisters house and saw this. WOW!!! I have been making eggs wrong all these years. It's pretty much opposite what Gordan does.

Swearing, family drama, watching people cry, and a happy ending.

The episode I remember most is the one with the Boxer who's got a pub who wanted to be awesome but was cooking from home cook books. What does Gordon do? Takes him out to a tomato field a few miles away, gets him picking tomatoes and making his grandma's meatball recipes.

Gordon's UK shows are about improvement, changes, and his focus on buying and cooking local. When did the US versions go shopping in the local markets? When did he teach people how to cook better?

If you disagree with me on Kitchen Nightmares, then go watch The F Word. Fucking BRILLIANT.

yup i was a fan of the british version years ago. the american one sucks shit and everything you say is absolutely true. I was only debating about the swaering - he swaers like a motherfucker in the brit versions. And he acts like a totally destructive dick. that's all i was debating - that this part is the same and has nothing to do with american culture and americans requiring swearing.

to be honest i never favoured his approach. Unfrotunately it seems like most in the restaurant kitchen utilize it. It's one of the few industries i can think of where destructive feedback induced by stress is not only tolerated but considered "normal". You ever watch a nice chef on tv then get a glance at some point of them in the kitchen in another show where they slip in a stressful situation and you get to see what a dick they are? that always ruins it for me lol

with that said, f word IS awesome (the show haha). i usually don't like these type of one on one shows but some people have done it well...this guy, ming sai, jamie oliver's first show...that gay italian rocco guy on food network tv

All of this. Supposedly around 80% of all the restaurants that were helped in the US version tanked because they were already too deep to begin with. I haven't seen The F Word as of late, but where Ramsay's British shows actually focus on the food, Fox decides to emphasize the drama.

just made some eggs like that

they're alright not a fan like the way ive typically made them

Ch28 03-06-2013 09:23 PM

soft, wet scrambled eggs >>> rubber scrambled eggs

Rich Sandor 03-06-2013 09:28 PM

I prefer my scrambled eggs to be cooked, not runny AT ALL, and even have some browning on the outside.

Eff-1 03-06-2013 09:34 PM

beware if you try his recipe using the saucepan. the saucepan is a PAIN to clean afterwards. I will stick to using a non-stick skillet.

StylinRed 03-06-2013 10:22 PM

^^^ if you keep mixing it with a rubber tipped spatula you won't have egg stuck all over the pan; i was using a metal one and noticed the sticking and switched to a rubber one and BAM no problems

but the eggs are thick and creamy i prefer mine to be soft and puffy

meowjinboo 03-06-2013 11:32 PM

vine ripened tomatoes

cheese grater them, boil off the liquid (with paprika salt pepper oregano, nutmeg), crack 6 eggs into the bot with them. let them simmer until the eggs are sunny side up.

melt good goat/sheep feta (oh god dont buy the shitty kind from superstore, actually go to parthenon and pick up the bulgarian stuff or the greek sheep barrel)

boom, guaranteed sex if you make them for a girl.

Doesn't need to be raw milk. You can make it by just doing 3:1 heavy cream to buttermilk, salt to taste, and I like to add a small splash of lemon juice. Leave it in a bowl in the kitchen counter, covered in wrap for a day or 2 days then toss it in the fridge. We used un-pasturized in a place I worked (don't tell anyone) and it really isn't all that different. A bit more acidity it seemed but thats why I like to add the splash of lemon.

radioman 03-07-2013 01:03 AM

Been making is like this for a couple years using heavy cream. My fav way of making it.

Culverin 03-07-2013 02:18 AM

I started doing mine on a lower heat and constant stirring now.

The egg is completely set, but with the addition of some butter and cream and the constant stirring with a spatula, it stays smoother.
It still has bumpy bits, but they are soft to the feel of the tongue.

I could be mistaken, but I think what happens is the whites get scrambled, but the yolks don't totally set? I'm not sure, it's just a guess.

Lobster scrambled eggs with chives.
Toasted mini croissant.

Like meowjinboo, I think a properly made egg dish will make your girl very happy.

Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home - Eggs - YouTube

Jacques Pepin and Julia Child are OG.

Comparing them to Gordon Ramsey is like comparing Tupac to Justin Bieber.

I've made this before. I personally thought it was alotttt better tasting then the tradional style.

More depth to the flavour. Again to each their own.

Oleophobic 03-12-2013 08:01 PM
