Shaw internet issue, please assist.

Hey folk, I am currently in a situation with Shaw and wondering if you all have experienced about it.

Two months ago, I called and cancelled my cable service. One of the salesman called and offered me a promotion for 6 months , including internet + FREE TV. Since this is a really good deal, I clarified the total price with him several times before I accepted the offer.

The bill from last month was fine, $30 something plus tax. However for this month, it costs about 52 after a promotional discount of 67 dollars.

I attempted to contact the same sales person to ask him what is going on but in vain. I contacted Shaw customer service and explained the situation, All they did was basically telling me they wont reduce the price as they gave me a promotional price already. Furthermore, they neglected my demand to reveal the phone conversation between myself and the sales man as I remembered that i have asked him for the price and he stated $30 dollars only.

This is a serious integrity issue of the sales person as I am not sure whether he was trying to meet his monthly quota and trying to scamp more customers?

Please advise if there is any better business bureau / agency which I can complain to?

generally on the bill it should state what you're being charged for and what you have discounted. do you see a difference in the two bills to figure out in particular if something was changed?

only thing i can think of right now is perhaps he gave you the first month free, and then the next few months at a discounted price?

regardless.. shaw sucks in promotions right now.. they're all pretty much three months only

On the date which I cancelled the original cable service, the person on the phone asked me if I want to switch to the electronic bill .......

what I am getting now is TV channels plus free chinese channels which I dont really watch. For the worst case, Shaw either wont review the recorded phone conversation or they do not even have it? it is like left arm fighting with right arm since there will be no proof or what so ever?

WHat should I do now?

your e-bill should still give you the details you need to know if were able to read it

hard to say what's going on without seeing the bill itself..

unless the sales person didn't note it on your account.. i don't think they've ever pulled up phone conversation records that i'm aware of

if you feel that you're not being helped out properly with the person you're talking on the phone with.. ask to speak to the next person up
