Same exact thing happened to me this week. I think something got loose inside from dropping it too many times and now it becomes a hassle to get it open.

But try holding down the middle thing when you spin the combo. If yours is loose like mine, this might be the only way to get the lock to open.

Since you have access to an electrical outlet, use a grinder with a cutting disc. And when you use a rotary tool, don't put pressure on it, let the tool do the cutting.

Don't waste your time on a grinder, just cut a portion of a pop can up in this =\/= shape and bend it around the post that dangles and spins when the lock is open. Situate the V portion of the shim to where it's facing the main body of the lock and push/pull down using the tabs (=) on each side as leverage.

u cant shim dudley locks, i would know. it only works on masterlocks and the generic ones from superstore

The first lock I shimmed was a Dudley lock, you're probably thinking of the ones with the guard on the top. That is why I asked if his lock had the guard, dudley locks (or any combo lock similar to it) are shit without the guard.

Dudley locks were supplied to every student at Kits, which is why locker theft was not a surprise.

He already has a rotary tool that'll work 100% of the time. No point fucking around trying jig something up that may or may not work.

Didn't catch that, though shims are rather foolproof, unless it's a newer (more expensive) master lock. Zip that shit off lol.

^^ have the one in the first pic from 7 years ago. Just opened it right now on my 2nd try after its been sitting for 2 years

I assume either one can get shimmied or cut.

The ones with the shackle guard became popular midway through highschool for me.
After cutting locks became popular for the thieves.

I think the only way to crack these ones were by sticking a thin piece of metal between the guard and hammering down.
