Shitty Roads/Construction Thread
 

Just wanted to make this thread to ensure everyone knows where all the unfriendly roads are in Vancouver and to make sure everyone has a smooth passing as they commute through uneven/unpaved infested roads of crapcouver.

I will try to keep the first post updated with everyone's findings in these crappy roads.

Prince Edward Street and 17th ave.

Side street, but avoid at all costs. Road is absolutely terrible regardless if you're slammed or not

I hate University Blvrd between Blanca and Wesbrook (at UBC)... It seems like a new pot-hole opens up on that stretch every single day..

Knight bridge. Right lanes for both sides are a WRC track.

Boundary and kingsway.

Westminster Hwy after Nelson, going towards Annacis Island.

Construction looks like it's kind of lightening up, but it's still a headache

49th between elliot and kerr... they should re-pave the road

right turns from Bridgeview Dr onto 115th Ave in Surrey. rather try and pave a new left turn for the half built warehouse they should smooth out the intersection.

yeah it's been that way for almost 3 months i think, i take 54th ave now to burnaby

33rd Ave btwn Oak and Cambie. Candidate for the shittiest road in the world.

HOV lanes on highway 1....reminded me of the africa special on my commute today.

inverness and 26th.

Most of Marine Drive on the way to UBC is still absolute crap. Also, in the White Rock/South Surrey stretch of 152nd many new potholes have been opening up...

Avoid in the rain, almost guaranteed to hydroplane.

Armstrong Avenue in burnaby

168th Street and 64th Avenue in Surrey has construction going on

If you want real hydroplaning stay on the left lane of knight going to richmond. Old video of me shitting my pants as a huge puddle of water almost drags me towards the barrier. So much water that i couldn't hear crap for a few seconds and couldn't see crap either cause my whole windshield was covered in water. :badpokerface:

East Boulevard between 49th Avenue and 57th Avenue. What the hell, can't they fix that stretch of road?

Right turn from Dawson onto Willingdon - Crap
Willingdon heading North @ Hwy1 East ramp - HUGE dips/bumps onto the overpass
Gilley Ave between Kingsway & Imperial - Waterwork (Roads all kinds of cut up)
Armstrong Ave between Caribou & Cumberland (as luder said) - Waterworks half assed finished (Roads all uneven)
10th Ave between Caribou & Cumberland - Waterworks, same shit roads all fucked up in spots
Douglas Road between Lougheed & Goring/Springer - sunken manholes

All Burnaby..

Lol 3 weeks ago there was a pothole closer to cambie side just where the road starts sloping down, must've been a solid 3" deep surprisingly they filled it pretty quickly.

to add to mello's, going eastbound on dawson and crossing willingdon is the WORST shit ever

That ride is ghetto as hell, didn't even bother putting curbs on it. Knight street bridge heading north but that's been mentioned. They're probably going to pave that this summer, expect lineups to the tunnel.

also boundary road north bound between grandview and lougheed hwy, right under the hwy 1 overpass. shits like a roller coaster with so many ups and downs and theyre SO bad! i bottom out our work van everytime i go because you're going like 50km+ when you hit em lol

That area has been terrible for awhile now, I don't even remember what the on ramp is like. renfrew has a weird spots today, one spot is near 20th ave. There's a rediculously tiny house getting the sewer lines dug in. The house is smaller then the friggen backhoe. Then around renfrew and first there's construction on both sides of the street. getting into that t&t parking lot is gonna be a tricky(trickier then normal i suppose)

The alley behind my house is better than most streets in Vancouver..........

Kingsway westbound far right lane near Willingdon is pretty crappy.

Willingdon exit off of Hwy 1 has a traffic block/fence thingy sticking way to far into the road... Keep to the right and slow down!
