Kidney Stones

Does any one have experience with them?

I had the pain in my kidney area this morning, went to the hospital, had urine and blood test taken. The doctor came to the conclusion I have one. I was nearly painless for 6hra today, and now the pain has moved into my lower stomach/groin area, and is excruciating.

How long after the pain did you pass the stone?

I passed one this summer and it was the worst pain imaginable. First time I threw up from pain too. Took a couple days too pass but the Dr. told me the pain comes when it moves from the kidney to your bladder. So in all I had to deal with that pain for about six hours when they finally gave me the drugs, then a couple days later I pee'd the stone out.

It has also really had an effect on my pain threshold. Things just don't bother me anymore. I even broke my wrist at Christmas and suffered only minor discomfort even through splits, drs poking at it, etc. :s

Yeah, I shattered my arm, broke my leg, several serious injuries and nothing compares to this.

The pain seems to be coming and going now. I have pills that loosen the muscles round my urinary tract which I hope speeds up the passing. I'm drinking water like a mofo.

Not something I would wish on anyone. Water is pretty much all you can do :( good luck man.

edit: drinking lemon water can help clear/dissolve solids and help prevent future ones too.

this is the equivalent of child birth for men.

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for kidney stones

i wonder if this is available if you ask. or maybe they only give it to ppl with crazy giant ones.

subordinate 04-12-2013 10:48 PM

Werd, never had it but heard how painful it is.

That's why it's mostly about diet. Keep hydrated is critical.

SkinnyPupp 04-12-2013 11:38 PM

Can't you get prescribed opiate pain killers? :fulloffuck:

cdizzle_996 04-13-2013 03:33 AM

The shock wave will happen only if I don't pass it on my own.

I was prescribed oxycodone for the pain. I'm not a big pill person, and I'm especially not a big fan of oxy's because I've seen the damage they've done to people.

After being curled up in a ball last night, in agony I took one and it helped. It's now 4:30am and I feel like I've even stabed.

lol they abused it, thats why.
Take 1/2 pill? I had the same mindset when i had an ankle fracture/surgery, but said f.it and took it. Best decision, strong stuff.

I didnt abuse it, plus i get addictive to things easily.

I know it doesn't look like much, but here it is. It's about the size of a sharpened pencil lead, but round and jagged. It felt like pissing shards of glass.

Congratulations on passing it!
I've never had it but I watched my mom suffer the pain and agony of passing three stones.
She said it hurt more than giving birth to me and my sis.
Like you, she was also given oxycodone for the pain.

Think of it this way, shit doesn't get more painful than that.

how do we avoid kidney stones

Gnomes 04-13-2013 04:44 PM

^Drink cranberry juice for prevention. Also help decrease chance of urinary tract infections

:fuuuuu: my dick hurts just looking at that. Crossing my fingers for life that I'll never have to deal with it.

cdizzle_996 04-13-2013 06:07 PM

I wish that pain upon no one. Haven't had any pain or discomfort, which leads me to believe it was only one.

They should have done an ultrasound to let you know if there's any more in there. They did for me anyway. Gratz on making it through and welcome to the 'Nothing hurts me any more because of experiencing stones' club. It seriously makes you feel like a super saiyan.

Kidnapman 04-13-2013 06:36 PM

Congratulations are in order. I can't imagine anything but pee coming out of my urethra. Very painful stuff that sounds like something out of a horror story. If I ever had kidney stones I'm pretty sure I would have killed myself out of fear of the immense pain.

Not really racist! 04-13-2013 09:43 PM

drink.... lots of water!!

don't drink coffee.

drink lots of water, and always stay hydrated. don't let the shit build up from being dehydrated.
