[Confidential] Chargebacks?

The following is a post by an anonymous Revscene member who did not wish to be identified. Please keep this thread on-topic, no matter the subject matter.

Hi guys, just wondering if you ever had an experience of chargebacks via Paypal or through the BANK your credit card is with?

Long story short, ended up spending 90$ on a " donation game " and I realized I didnt have time and therefore wanted a chargeback. Although its a game there is no services I ever was provided and they game owner is not willing to refund my money rather he said I should go get it through paypal and simply banished all of my accounts on the game.

Other friends have also told me the method of chargeback indeed works because the money I sent to the person has never given me anything " but virtual game credits " and I can dispute with paypal this ?

Wondering about your insights and thoughts about how to get this money back..

Whats a "donation game"?

shenmecar 04-22-2013 10:09 AM

PayPal recognizes virtual intangible goods as something ppl do pay for. Like items in rpg games. So in fact you cannot dispute it with PayPal if you indeed received the "game credit"

Technically you can challenge anything, but whether your CC company rules in your favour is a different story.

It's where you pay strippers to remove their clothes by given them 'tokens' which you pay money for.

OP fell into the trap of using his wallet with his dick.

1) Feeling out of touch if the OP actually makes sense.
2) Don't be a douche bag. Not the sellers fault you suddenly have no time. Go resell it. There's clearly a market for it if you're willing to pay money for it.

Well, technically you made a donation. I'm not too sure about the policy for donation charge-backs. You could do a chargeback through your visa / paypal I guess if you claim you never made the purchase.. (like a stolen account?)

The following is a response to my original question about what the nature of this donation game is. This is a reply from the anonymous original poster

its a MMORPG game similiar to diablo which accepts donations which rewards you with in-game credit
i asked them for a chargeback and they banned me and said go deal with it through paypal

Two things.

First: that's not a donation game, that's free to play. You bought online currency and/or items. You got them. You decided you wouldn't use them. Your fault.

Second: this is only an anonymous question because you know it's a retarded one and that your real account would get failed.

Suck it up like a big boy, learn from it, don't do it again.

anonymous original poster is a phaggot

Your first mistake was playing these stupid games. It amazes me that people think World of Warcraft is expensive at $15 a month and then I hear all these people play these stupid "free to play" games then spend all their money on in-game purchases.

You can try to chargeback anything. You've got nothing to lose. However, I doubt PayPal will rule in your favor since you did receive something whether they're virtual goods or not. If I was the seller, I wouldn't give you your money back either.

They banned you for asking to get a refund?

Yeah right. Sounds like you did something they would ban you for and you want your money back cause you didn't get to use it.

freakshow 04-22-2013 12:35 PM

when you need candy crush lives, you just really need candy crush lives..

meowjinboo 04-22-2013 01:16 PM

why would you not just post the name of the game?

LenovoTurbo 04-22-2013 02:13 PM

Sounds like World of Warcraft private server...LOL.

sam0m0 04-22-2013 02:24 PM

well he mentioned diablo style, so probably path of exile but its not really mmorpg.. guildwars? and bought credits which you can use for in game items/special effects.

Still confused why they would ban you for asking for a refund lol. I think more like you got banned and didn't get to use up all your credits, thats why you want a refund.

minoru_tanaka 04-22-2013 03:05 PM

The credit card would not support you. It's not goods not received, they're there. You not being happy is not any of the CCs business, the banks don't make the porn and can't pass judgement on it's quality

elwell 04-22-2013 03:44 PM

why would you donate money and then ask for it back in the first place?

StylinRed 04-22-2013 04:36 PM

bought wow gold, blizzard found out and banned em
