| How to remove clearcoat overspray on windows?
So I got my car back from paint, and there ended up being a bit of overspray of clear on my drivers window, and windshield. I could probably take it back in, but its way the fuck out of the way, and if its something I can do myself I'd rather just deal with it. I've heard 0000 steel wool, and the most aggressive clay bars are options. What about just paint thinner? Will it damage the glass? Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone has had personal experience with it.

0000 steel wool with soapy water should do it for you.

This was one of those things where going into it my thoughts were "I bet I'm fucked and have to take my car in." I can't believe how easily the wool took it off. Thanks guys!

any good body shop detailer/clean up guy should use soapy water and 00+ grade steel wool on your glass before they wash your car... usually the first step they do before they even hose your car off...

steal wool also works great if you have water spots on the window ;D its pretty hard to fck up glass, tbh a rag and soapy water would have taken the clear coat off haha!

Thinner works too, but leaves the window streaky as fuck so you have to wash it again.

a window tint installer once told me a razor blade works as well, but i would imagine that steel wool would be much quicker, but a razor blade is what he uses for overspray, window stickers or residue from old tint that was pulled off.

Razor blade is best for really thick overspray. Steel wools works good for minor overspray. (I'm a bodyshop detailer  )

razor blade is the best on windows. If it doenst come off try a little brush on air craft stripper.

Kinda off topic, I brought some 3M paint protection spray. It's pretty awesome.
It dries clear really hard to tell. And any area you don't like just spray windex on, it will melt right off and pressure wash it.
