i have the ze-912. absolutely terrible. once they wear out, im gonna do a burnout and send them to :devil:

michelin x-ice2: dry: 7/10. wet: 9/10. snow: 8/10. ice: 5/10...how ironic...

michelin primacy hp summer tire: dry: 9/10. wet:9/10. tread life: 6/10 (they lasted quite long, but dry rotted too quickly)

Bender Unit 04-28-2013 07:34 PM

Falken 512 is crap.
Falken 912 is mega crap.

Falken Azenis RT-615 is a Good bang for Price track/extreme summer tire.

Any recommendations for the features i need?

225/35/19 & 245/35/19
Good on road noise
decent tire life 40,000 -60,000km ?
good traction (dry)
decent traction (wet)
good ~ decent comfort

Looking for prices between the 180-200 benchmark on Discount Tire Direct

(used for daily commuting, not for aggressive driving)

Got these tires since Nov 2012. I must say it's best bang for the buck. $110 each 205/45/R16.

Excellent in rain 9/10
Road Noise 8/10
Dry traction 9.5/10 very grippy

Snow traction 7/10

jpark 04-29-2013 03:03 AM

i had fk452 before on my old car. I didn't like it too much, road noise was terrible, grip was so-so. Alot of people use these to stretch though if i can remember correctly

Hankook rs3's were honestly the best bang for the buck tires i have ever tried. Many reviews say its terrible in the rain but it is still way better than a lot of tires, affordable, dry performance is almost like r comps. However, it does wear out a bit fast

The X-Ice2 is a pretty good snow tire. I quite liked it. And yes, the irony is that it's terrible in ice (as with most snow tires.)

extracrunchie 04-30-2013 11:08 AM

I am looking into getting new tires myself, was looking at getting BF goodrich Comp2's but mixed reviews the more I research them.

Also was looking at the General Gmax, I have the winter tires from General and everyone gave it good reviews so I decided to try and it was a huge let down...........

Great68 04-30-2013 11:37 AM

Michelin Pilot Super Sports:

All I have to compare them to is my old stock Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's, so I can't quantify an "out of ten" rating.

All I know is that they are better than the RE050A's in every single one of those categories. And the wet weather grip is unreal.

I highly recommend these tires for the price. Best high performance all season tire in it's category. Can easily compete with the DWS and likes of others for a lower cost. :fuckyea:

I also prefer these a lot more than my previous set of Kumho XS (Extreme Summers) :rukidding:

Michelin Primacy HP (stock Prius/FRS/BRZ) tires

Comfort - 8/10
Road Noise - 8/10
Dry - 9/10
Wet - 8/10
Tread Life - N/A

Never really pushed them but for daily driving needs, they're pretty good. Can't really comment on tread life since I've only had them for a few months

Great68 04-30-2013 04:22 PM

Kinda have to categorize tires for any of these "ratings" to mean anything.

Like if a Primacy HP is 9/10 for dry handling, what does that make a super sport? 20/10?

DHP 1 04-30-2013 05:24 PM

^

great point

it really depends on the car setup, RWD/FWD/AWD driving habit, manual/auto and how much hp/torque. Especially driving habits

DW/DWS are awesome tires, the hottest tires we sell to be honest

Mich PSS is the best street tires i would say in terms of everything

DW for best bang for the buck max performance tires

I would give it 9/10 for dry
9/10 for wet
hydroplane 10/10

cornering response 8/10

treadwear 9/10

same with DWS

this is for cars around 300-400hp

werd, i've had those and there were so bad in the rain....i am replacing them with a new set..heading down to bellingham on wednesday to put on Nitto Motivo's...i've read good reviews and a friend put those on on his mazdaspeed6 and had great experience with it so i'm hoping to get the same

anyone heard/had experience with Nitto Motivos?

Vigorous 07-01-2013 01:10 PM

Anyone have experience with the Achilles ATR Sport tire? I've looked around the web and the reviews are pretty decent. They are crazy cheap and are sold out everywhere in the LM for my size 215/40/18. Just wanna know if its worth bringing them in from the US.

Falken 452's?

Yeah, I have them on my car right now. Had them since 2009. Noisy as hell. Good thing I have a stereo with some power, 'cause if it were stock radio, I would not hear anything.

Once you hit 80kmph, the noise is gone. When I first put them on, I thought I had them on backwards or something.

As for handling and all that shit, it's OK. The tires are pretty tough, though. I have no idea how long I've driven one tire completely flat, but it's still going strong after I got it patched up, LOL. Tire shop warned me not to drive them, but it's been close to 6 months now. Tires wear pretty good on a light car, so with most of the tread still there, it would have been a shame to throw them out. I did look at the tire once they took it off the rim and it didn't look that bad.

Someone mentioned winter tires. I purchased Nokian Hakkapalitta winter tires this past winter and holy crap, are they good. Best winter tires I've had. Better than X-Ice or anything else I've had. Zero noise, decent traction, but great stopping. To boot, my fuel mileage improved. They are on stock alloys. If they made the Nokian all seasons to fit my Enkei's, I'd buy them in a heartbeat for summer use.

XplicitLuder 07-01-2013 04:11 PM

i had Yokohama YK580 for my all seasons. guy down at bellingham recommended me those instead of my kumho 4x that i had ordered. these are the first tires ive really bought brand new so i cant really compare to anything else ive had...

but they came out to be about 110 each. Had these on my 98 FWD Maxima

noise = 9/10
dry = 9/10 (for daily driving, no pushing corners much)
wet = 7/10 - i disliked that i spun a bit when im uphill and its wet roads

but overall i was happy with them. Gonna try diff tires next time i buy some for my current car so i can get a feel of all the choices out there

Michellin super sport pilots they come in those sizes and they are rated to do 70,000 kms good traction in wet and dry and fairly good on road noise. These tires grip very nicely.

Hey any luck with those Nitto Motivos? I'm looking for some A/S tires for my '07 G35 coupe and came across these as a possible alternative to Michelin Pilot A/S Sport. I haven't heard much about them so haven't purchased them yet.

Not planning on driving in the snow, just need something for all the rain we get here.

Alby 07-22-2013 01:54 PM

totally forgot about this thread. thanks to all with the inputs on the General G-MAX AS-03. just ordered myself those tires. by the sounds of it, its a winner.

JackAss 07-22-2013 03:44 PM

I've had G-MAX AS-03 on my 07 Honda Fit for around 4 months now. Very happy with the tires.

noise = 9/10
dry = 9/10
wet = 9/10
price = 10/10

Will be getting them on my other car

christiankirana 07-24-2013 01:38 PM

anyone tried Hankook Ventus v4es?

Mr. Chewbacca 07-25-2013 09:47 AM

I just bought a set of Federal 595 Evo's. They are 195/40/16 on my 16x9's. I reeally like them. The tread pattern is nice, and the tires are very grippy in dry/wet.

westopher 07-25-2013 09:50 AM

I went through a set in 5k on my e30.

sas 08-04-2013 06:22 AM

Where did everyone pick up their gmax tires? Online or local?
