This.

You'll probably have them partially open them to reach the notches. Problem is, once in awhile, you'll close the pliers....on your finger. You'll understand what I mean when this happens. Find something that fits in the pliers, that keeps it open enough to reach the notches, then tie a rubberband around the handle so it stays in that position.

I don't have needle nose pliers haha. I got the tool from supercheap (Australia's version of O'Reilly Auto Parts if you will) that fits into a 3/8" Socket

Just changed the rear brakes.
Turns out I didn't need the tool (nor pliers) at all.
Here's a tip for you guys who may come across this type of brakes in the future:

Directly behind the piston, behind that hunk of metal there is a very stubby 14mm bolt. Remove that, then stick a 4mm Allen key inside the bolt-hole to adjust the piston. Left makes the piston retract, right makes the piston extend. It's a combo Handbrake/Piston adjustment mechanism. Thank god for the interwebs\

(picture to come later)

I have a feeling that this was made so that only the dealer could change the brakes lol
