yeah theres a little code between all these doctors and compassionate club, people shouldnt refer you to a cannabis pro doctor, theres liabilities and they are not willing for it, if you legitimately need one, ask your family doctor and see what he says

A compassion club is essentially a pathway to free, quasi legal or outright legal marijuana.

You'll need to speak to your family doctor, they'll establish whether you have a legitimate need for medication to treat chronic pain, insomnia, or something of that sort. The family doctor will proceed to prescribe you a rx or refer you to a specialist to treat your need. The specialist would also prescribe you a rx, possibly run some tests. Should the rx not be effective, they would likely prescribe you an alternative rx. Should the alternative rx not be effective, they may begin to consider prescribing marijuana and set you on a path to health canada approval (a very long process in itself). A doctor will not simply prescribe marijuana, naturopath or otherwise; they're not fools, they're not blind to its use as a recreational drug, and they won't hand over a prescription for it easily, because giving it to people who don't need it would damage their reputations. Compassion clubs are not equivalent to sketchy dispensaries, like iMedikate; they seek to treat legitimate needs, diagnosed by well-established doctors.

tl;dr, just keep buying it out of a sketchy dude's car or at a sketchy dispensary.

Naturopath's can diagnose you and thus you can meet the requirements to get a membership at Dispensaries. However, a regular membership at a dispensary is not the same as getting a MMAR card (Federal Government card for weed). MMAR cards are way harder to get and require a real doctor to diagnose and typically require crazier symptoms such as cancer to be approved. Thats not to say you can't get one for having chronic pain though, my coworker got one approved by the Government for this reason. A lot of family doctors will fill out a MMAR form for you if you pay them, typically in the $300 + range which is a fucking scam. I don't see doctors charging patients to approve for other things so why this? Either they do their job and charge nothing or not say yes to a patient at all, it gives themselves and the system a bad name imo.

Ahh, so only Medical Doctors can get you a MMAR card and a Naturopath can diagnose you with a condition that would be suitable for you to get a membership at a dispensary.

Makes sense. Thanks

^^ And to clarify.

Medical doctors give you the MMAR card (LEGAL way of possessing marijuana)
Naturopath gives you dispensary card (ILLEGAL way of possessing marijuana)

A cop will just laugh at you if you pull out your dispensary card.
