I like how there are actually carnival type games at the River Rock location. It's the only good side because everything else is just the same old night market stuff, but prices have been jacked up way too much.

$7.5 for Mongolian skewers?! $6.50 for imitation shark fin soup??? Seriously wtf.

They were giving out free samples and they put the noodles in a bag. They give you 2 skewer sticks to use as chopsticks. The sample was surprisingly really good. My girlfriend kept on saying that noodles in a bag reminded her of HK, but I wouldn't know. It was only 3 bucks a bag and I had exactly 3 bucks left when I was about to leave so I decided to buy a bag. Toppings like sausages or fish balls are 0.50 but the guy let me have a topping for free cause I really only had 3 bucks in coins left lol. It was pretty good, would probably buy again...

The only picture of bagged noodles I could find on google.

Wait till the last 30 minutes before closing, skewers were down to $1 or so.

Went to the RR one last week, all the prices for the food seemed to have been jacked up.

Ive been to International Summer Night Market once, and Richmond Night Market 3 times already. The International one is pretty empty, not much to see BUT if you're only going for food, this is the one to try. The Richmond River Rock one has a lot more things to check out, more food stalls but you literally spend your entire trip there waiting for your food in line.

I went to the BBQ squid stall. The sign says $6.50. When I got to the front, they said it was changed to $7 because it was "too popular"

Just came back from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand ... Vancouver Night Market does nothing for me now ... probably won't be going this year.
I was eating skewers for 35 CENTS each .. and they were freakin' delicious!... what are the prices here? Like $3-$5?... I miss Asia already

I went to the one near River Rock (had a giant rubber duck) and it was pathetic. Most of the stands were for phone cases, clothes and plush toys. There was one or two DVD stands and NO car equipment huts. It was a bit disappointing but the food there is definitely something to look forward to.

Tons of people lined up (more like crowded around) this rotato stand (potatoes cut in a spiral then deep fried) so I never got a chance to try it but it looked pretty good. The food stands seemed to be the biggest attraction there since it was difficult to even move in that area.

Good thing you didn't line up. I still don't get why people do, it's highly overrated.

When you go to the riverrock one. Once you pay, they hand you this yellow card that has spots for you to get stamps from various food stands. Once you fill it out, you get a chance to win like a cruise, a mini, a trip to somewhere, etc.

On the back of the stamp game is a 10% OFF coupon for Ebisu too!
If you eat $20 worth at Ebisu your entry fee has paid for itself!

Went to to both night markets this weekend. Food is way better at the location by the River Rock.

I was at a stand that sold Okonomiyaki in the original night market. I thought my Jadar was broken. Saw these two chicks speaking Japanese, but they didn't look Japanese. Anyway, turned out my Jadar didn't need recalibrating. They were Korean, and not Japanese. Can't tell these days, as all Asian chicks look alike, LOLOLOLOL.

sorry to the girl i smoked in the face with the ball while trying to knock over the cans at one of the games...

everyone was lightly tossing this ball at cans full of sand...

so i throw pretty hard and actually knock 2/3 completely off

last throw i miss a little bit, hits the wall, flies over my head and into some girl...

I'm at the River Rock location right now. Thanks, free Shaw connect. I'm lovin' the Chicken Karaage. The place boasts about having the best karaage in town. I have to say they're absolutely correct. WOW!

I'm heading out to the Vancouver Chinatown Night Market in about an hour. Went there last night when they were shutting down. It didn't look that bad. Parking is free after 10pm, but that only leaves an hour, so gonna check it out and find the cheapest place to park.
