A guy in New West about 2 years ago in a 4runner had his taken.

It'd be out in 5. 10, tops.

Pipe cutter is faster, makes almost no noise and is lighter. In places where noise doesn't matter that much, they just use a reciprocating saw.

Only way to slow them down or prevent it, is to build a long skidplate under it or cover/mount a large area with expanded metal grating. I'd do the latter if I was running a cat, since a replacement would cost an arm and a leg and who knows what ICBC would actually cover after you pay your deductible, plus the hassle of taking a day off to get it sorted out.

A few years ago, thieves hit Westwood Honda and took the cats out of all the Ridglines and Pilots. Then they went a few doors down and took the cats off a bunch of Community busses. So not only did they have to replace the cats but the downpipe and midpipes too.

Fucking thieves.

Dicks, but even I have to admit, that's a pretty impressive haul without causing any suspicion.

My aunt's 4runner in Walnut Grove got hit two nights ago. Woke up, went to start the car to drive to work and she realized it.

Nah, just a regular slim joe can slide under and cut it easier than a car (being jacked up)

This was happening awhile ago (1-2 years) in Burnaby.

My neighbors Toyota pickup got hit, afew doors down another neighbor got hit.
Then on the other side of Burnaby around the Caribou area my cousins friend got his 4runners taken, and a friend living around there got his taken off his 4runner.

So low, no way you could get your head under my car :fullofwin:

Had mine cut out of my 4runner in my driveway last year..fuckers used a pipe cutter and cut my o2 sensor harness too. Slapped a straight pipe in and called it a day..don't need it stolen again. Its the secondary cat that they take, so it still air cares..

How about the fucking scrappers that buy sawed-off cats off sketched-out crackheads? They're the ones enabling this theft by purchasing stolen goods.

Exactly, they need to target the places buying them and the fines need to be so huge that the risk outweighs the gains of acquiring them. Half the problem is the police probably don't have the resources to investigate the places buying them so it's easy to get away with it.
