Just did it for second time. Did it Friday 1:24. Hated it so much I decided to buy a season pass on the way down. Typing this waiting for the gondola, 1:21. Damn my time sucks compared to you guys, but, I will demolish my time. Hoping for sub 70 minutes.

My buddy and I did it yesterday for the first time this year.

Got 45 mins (beat my pb 49) and he got 42 mins. Planning to do it at least once a week.

Man, I miss doing the Grouse Grind. Haven't gone since I finished school up at Capilano University (was still just a college back then)... so twelve years now. Used to go every couple days after class and managed to finally hit a best of 41:xx.

Now I'm pretty sure I'll be at the one and a half hour mark. :lol

skiiipi 05-20-2013 11:00 AM

Going tomorrow for the first time since last year
Likely will be in the high 50s for my first time back at it

vafanculo 05-20-2013 02:53 PM

I refuse to go after 8am on weekend or holidays Lol.

BTW, is the small gravel parking lot (right a few steps below the trail enterance) free or pay parking? I don't see a machine so I haven't paid so far.

Does anyone get lower back pain/strain while doing the grind? I've been getting it, and i try to stay more upright most of the time, but it sitll hurts. Hurts a lot more when i'm leaning forward too. Any tips would help.

what kind of shoes are you wearing?
my back hurt the first grind, but I was using heavy hiking shoes.
I switched to lightweight running shoes and it feels much much better!

I hit a 48.53 this morning! pb!

dvdjels 05-25-2013 09:11 AM

Did my first trek up last week in over 2 years. Managed a 48:xx. At least better than my first attempt years back (2 hrs+)...

Hopefully with some training I will get it down to 40 mins or so.

You should try wearing simple runners like Nike dual fusions or Nike free runs they actually will do the job in the dry condition i have tried it myself
