Looks amazing.

Haven't heard anything of a 4 series line before though...how would it differ to the 3 series? Looks a lot like what a next gen m3 would look like.

THANK GOD there is a manual transmission. There were rumours that the next gen M3 would be SMG only.

I can accept no manual for the 991 GT3 (PDK gives faster lap times and at least Porsche threw a bone to the purists with a clutch kick), but the M3's soul is NA V6 and a manual transmission (and apparently the M4 is the new M3). I'm actually hoping to buy an E36 M3 as a long term goal.

think odd numbers (3, 5, 7 series will all be sedans going forward)
and even numbers, 4, 6, 8? series will be coupes...or in the 6 series case, also a gran coupe)

M4 is the new M3

Lets hope they don't change a lot in the production model.

You mean straight six? :smug:

The exterior looks okay, but I'm still hating the fact that it's electronically assisted EVERYTHING. I'd love to drive it if I could actually feel the road, but they always pack so many computers into them that you never can.

I'd buy one, then I'd remove all of the power options and useless gadgetry.

Akinari 05-13-2013 08:56 PM

Front end is a bit busy for me, but otherwise, looks promising. The M3 has never disappointed, I have high expectations.

Yes I agree with this. Had a chance to drive the normal f30 328i. Was not impressed with steering feel at all. Felt like I was playing gran turismo 5 on a really shitty non force feed back wheel or some crap. Electronic power steering sure takes away a lot...

wstce92 05-13-2013 09:00 PM

Love it
but personally, it's grown a bit too big for my liking, so I'm much more excited for the M2

Harvey Specter 05-13-2013 09:05 PM

Well it's a concept so the front end might not be as aggressive but overall the 4 series coupe is looking quite good.

Marshall Placid 05-13-2013 11:42 PM

^ This.

It's a concept, but I won't be surprised the production vehicle looks very similar to the concept, less a few details.

IMHO, I don't like the hood line at the front.

Still has a nice weighted feel to it though, but compared to the E9x's steering, it's a huge step backwards. Not anywhere near the amount of steering feedback and accuracy the E9x's steering offers.

But the younger generation doesn't care about number superstitions. If they ask mommy/daddy nicely, they will get one regardless!
