^^ that's why i said eventually i assume it would become really simple, quick, and exact with 3d printers? but no clue

Bouncing Bettys 05-16-2013 05:52 PM

Simplest way to check the older bills is to crumple it up under running water. The ink will run or the paper will fall apart if its a fake.

More fake American bills are trying to used lately.

dlo 05-16-2013 06:30 PM

yeah ive seen these bills before, but they do not smell like that stupid maple syrup shit it suppose to lol, they look pree dam good

tiger_handheld 05-16-2013 06:44 PM

why can't bills have RFID tags in them? All the cashier would have to do is "scan" it through the RFID reader and don't even have to look to see what denomination it is.
I'm sure it'll be super super tough to spoof an RFID signal.

counterfeit proof they said...

Hondaracer 05-16-2013 08:13 PM

Damn the new ones look pretty good, showed them on the news the only difference they noted was in the hologram and even it looked reasonably close

one of my staff took in a fake about a month back.
it got a bit damaged because so many people were handling it but in general i would say it was a better fake then any of the paper bills we ever got.
no brail but colour was bang on (the pic doesn't do it justice. iphone camera) and it felt very similar to a real bill, maybe a bit thicker. looks like it was done in a couple layers which explains the added thickness.

and for those who can't figure it out. top is real bottom is fake.

Mr.Money 05-17-2013 02:08 AM

oh i could tell...the foil print on the fake looks like shit compared to the real hologram with the small details on it.
how is it going to take before we see smaller bills?...of course it's sketchy to be handed 100 dollar's for a 10 dollar bill :fuckthatshit:

yeah like i said, after the bill getting passed around to all my staff and a bunch of friends who have all scratched and picked at the bill it becomes very evident which is fake but trust me when we first got it the holo was probably one of the most convincing parts.

Gridlock 05-17-2013 07:12 AM

That's impressive. I think I'd feel better about taking one of those in, rather than one of the shit ink jet jobs that float around.

Never underestimate the abilities of people to find a way to screw the system.

Hondaracer 05-17-2013 08:33 AM

Also before this people probably aren't just breaking these 100's for change, they are provably buying larger purchases and giving stacks of them with some real some fake

Unless your fake is spot on, then no.

If you are counting out a stack of bills, then a fake stands out as feeling different.

The key is busy cashiers during long lines.

wanna reupload the pictures?
i get error/broken links

sh0n 05-19-2013 02:45 PM

Props that a fake has come to market.

But the fake is a pretty bad fake if you have read the article and know what to look for.

StylinRed 05-19-2013 02:55 PM

well if the fake was pristine you wouldn't hear reports of there being a fake anyway

SpartanAir 05-19-2013 04:50 PM

Why would you go to all of that effort to make a seemingly passable counterfeit bill, and not include all the detail from a real one? Aren't you just setting yourself up to be caught?

I can maybe understand not getting the bumps in the bill, but the drawing isn't even complete :rukidding:

BaoTurbo 05-19-2013 04:56 PM

Didn't they say that these new bills are near impossible to replicate with the high end technology imprinted on these bills when they first introduced it?....

Or was it just me...

Teriyaki 05-19-2013 05:03 PM

Anything HUMAN made. Can be HUMAN reproduced in my opinion. Its just a matter of getting the right people, with the right tools and resources.

daica-viet 05-20-2013 12:33 PM

wow I wonder how they get the plastic/paper to do that

corollagtSr5 05-20-2013 09:23 PM

midnight_r 05-21-2013 02:19 AM

FishTaco 05-21-2013 02:34 AM

Currency will be a thing of the past soon. :heckno:

Religious or not, still creepy.

Mr.HappySilp 05-21-2013 08:12 AM

Sigh is hard to trust anything anymore.... so there are fake bills out there people swtich to credit card to avoid it all. Then all of a sudden comes this idea that are going to be charge an extra 5 to 10% for using credit card. Why not try using debit card you ask? Well there is a montly fee to use debit card.

Either way Canadians are fuck lol
