Gawker fucked this up royally. What the fuck were they thinking? They're a massive online media company...$200k is a lot of money but they could've fronted it easily. Why not buy it first and THEN raise $200k? That reporter shouldn't have left without that iPhone in his hand.

And even if they didn't, announcing the video's existence to the world before they had proof of it was even stupider. Ford obviously knows who the person that took the video was. That guy is dead at the bottom of a lake somewhere and the video is deleted.

Even dumber for the guy not to make a copy and say if he doesn't report in somewhere, the video goes live.

I wish I knew shadier people...I'd be way richer by now.

Well, if he fucked up like this in the past, he'll do it again. Dude doesn't seem like he is "scared straight" so, if anything, he will get more and more cocky with his "extracurricular activities". Even all the people that work for him are starting to jump ship...they know something is up and\or they don't want to be around when the public finds out what really happened to that video.

My bet is, this won't be the last scandal we hear about involving Ford.

I can't believe he has survived this still in office.

I was really expecting a resignation speech.

He was already kicked out by court order over conflict of interest charges, and retained his seat upon appeal... surely you don't think something like this would scare him off??
