comes stock on trail editions.

So yeah this is my current truck.. Just sold my Acura Legend and decided to look for a commuting friendly SUV with a 4wd option.

Picked it up a few weeks back for peanuts and am currently in the process of rebuilding the tranny, and replacing all the seals and gaskets on the engine. Currently a few days behind schedule but when its done it should be a decent everyday runner that will get me where I need for work and play.

I'm not too sure about putting money into it right now.

The car's drivetrain is great. With the V8, crawl ratio, and 4ETS it is equivalent to a manual V6 TJ with front, rear, and center lockers (doing da maths).

But the ground clearance is a big issue. With IFRS, I don't know if a 3-5" lift would even be enough.

T4RAWR 08-12-2013 06:13 PM

3" lift with 33's is plenty of clearance to get around

I'd probably need underbody armor as well in that case. I couldn't believe it when I saw how easy it is to lose clearance with IFRS.

Brianrietta 08-13-2013 10:19 PM

More armour is almost never a bad idea anyways. Ground clearance is the same regardless of the amount of lift (as it's based off of the tire size). The best way to keep your lift to a minimum is use taller but stock width or smaller tires. Fender/control arm/bumper clearances are obviously much better with something closer to the size it was originally meant to have. You'd be amazed where your vehicle would go with even 235/85r16 all terrains or mud terrains.

Still have a few things I need to do to it before I can really drive it. Bought all new rear suspension for it, along with a few gaskets for the engine. Figure I'll do fluid flushes everywhere on the thing as well. BUT... I replaced the H3 bulbs in the fog lights today. Yay me? :lol

Oh, and I think the transfer box is pooched. Grinds every time I try to drop it into 4Lo :okay:
