Another factor is that TV shows from China is a lot better script than TVB. |

Also props for taking the fail like a champ. I'm glad you're not one of those guys who gets all on my case for failing them. |

China's market is huge, but also far more competitive. Luckily my company distribute advertisement airtime in China. TVB is sucking my dick just for a little bit of revenue sharing :fullofwin: |

Wow before I would have only fucked that chick, but with that video, I will consider making love to her. |
HKTV got rejected for a Free-to-air TV Licence, while PCCW and i-Cable were granted licences. |
:seriously::fulloffuck::fuuuuu: |
Not sure how much this helps, but a facebook page was put up and it got 400K followers in 1 day.. pretty impressive! https://www.facebook.com/supporthktv |
Can someone explain the situation now? (rejection, pccw, i-cable, how long we have to wait) |
I don't get it..... Wouldn't it make more sense to give the license to HKTV? -so many employees now work for HKTV.. (what's going to happen to their jobs/etc)? -Ricky Wong spent millions... investing, stimulates ecnomy? -more competition is good, just look at TVB's quality of dramas the past years -I can't wait to watch police boundaries |

No official reason was given by the HK government. Some are speculating the reason that HKTV got rejected was because there was influence from the PRC government that they didnt want HKTV to have their licence granted. As Ricky Wong had always been very anti-china with his political views, and that if he was granted a FTA licence, ATV may go bankrupt in less than a year. ATV is heavily invested by Chinese mainlanders, and is said to be the mouthpiece of the Mainland government. HKTV is the most ambitious and innovative of the the newcomers, with very strong public support in HK. The mainland government does not want further influence from HKTV. Currently HKTV can either file for a judicial review, wait another few years with the possibility that they may grant more FTA licences or buy ATV. The former option is the most likely situation. They've already laid off over 300 employees, with more to come in the coming weeks. |
That's a shame. If only they can offer online subscriptions at a premium fee. |
