ugh this is not good. the yellowtop optima i bought for my dad has survived 7 years in two different cars, so i may be on borrowed time...

any battery thats survived past 5 years is on borrowed time. I've had them last 10 plus years but most die by five.

is there any way to test a battery to tell if it is on its way out or not? or is it pretty much one day you will find it puking its guts out or you turn the ignition key and you only get a `click`....

Crappy tire load tests them for free (at least they used to when I worked there many moons ago)
