Boaters!

Anyone here have a boat?

My dad just bought a new trailer for a lund wc14, and it's hull makes a deep v at the front.

Problem - the boat sits fine on the bunks on the back end of the trailer, but due to the deep hull, the front barely touches....

We've raised the back end as high and wide as it can go, but the front still doesn't touch the bunk...only the back 4ft touch...

Anyone have any tips how to fix? The back up as high as it can go while the fronts as low as it can go...should we buy/make a riser for the back??

you will need a front riser or move the mounts on the trailer to support the front where it meets the trailer iirc

bingo!

both back and front were raised as high as they could go, so we took the bracket that had two bolts running through two slits, and put both bolts on the bottom slit to boost it up an extra 2-3 inches, and now its nice n snug! boat fits great!!

down side...fished at alouette lake today for 6 hours and caught nothing

alouette is terrible to fish lol.

only time you can catch anything is the few days right after stocking which hasnt happened in a while iirc.

are you looking to fish fresh water only or open to tidal as well?

you should take that boat out to belcarra and drop a few crab gates off the shore. spend the rest of the day bottom bouncing farther out.

I don't fish anymore, but I'm told our lake (Eagan, about 40km SE of 100 Mile) has some amazing Kokanee fishing these days, since it was restocked a dozen or so years ago and ice fishing was banned.
