Out of curiosity, what would an "average" cat be worth?

How would you theoretically "cut" one too? :lawl:

^ Seriously? Yup, gonna go hack out pieces of cars for a couple hundred bucks... /sarcasm. :seriously:

I got ripped off the last two I sold. Had a stock one off an xterra and one off an rx7 and I think they gave me $50? Maybe 75 for the two.

Certainly wasn't enough to make me want to go and cut them out of strangers cars.

a dodge ram came into my body shop because the cat was stolen and the price of it was $3000

Jesus christ!, 3000.... guess they fucked the pipe as well.

But yeah, I always figured the scrap value of a cat was around 100. Maybe bit more if it's factory.

Just walk on over to Mitchell island and sell it?

nope they didn't cut the pipes just took the nuts off and stolen the cat I think it was a diesel truck too it was a big and heavy ass cat

They've got multiple cats and diesel particulate filters. Those setups go for ~$800 to a scrapper and then the scrapper makes money on top of that. I think a whole oem system from turbo to tailpipe is $5000+ from the dealer.
