Camera Lens Storage/Cases

I'm a noob at cameras. I got the Olympus PEN EPM1 a while ago, however I was wondering how/where/what you use to store the camera body and lenses. Is there a huge difference between the expensive brand name cases or the not so expensive "generic" cases.

What sort of temperature can i keep the lenses in and such. Should I always remove the lens off the body when storing?

Don't have to worry that much about temperature and humidity in Vancouver for lenses.

Unless you plan to buy a whole set of lenses, there's no point in buying a case. Put the camera in a soft case, put in the drawer. Even if you plan on buying a few lenses, a generic one with a good seal should be fine for home storage. The expensive ones are for bashing it around on the plane as you travel around the world with 300+ mm lenses.

Just keep them dry and cool and it's all good.
