URGENT: Left my keys in the trunk

So umm.. I left my car keys in the trunk and I do not have another set of keys. Does anyone know how I may retrieve my keys other than screwing with the lock and breaking my windows?

(I have all the credentials inside the car and etc so I am not "breaking" into a car, as much as it may seem.)

See if you have any friend who has BCAA, I remember few years back, my dad had his car key in his car and locked, but our family friend was a member so he called BCAA over pretend it was his car and unlocked it haha

Another suggestion would be get a tow truck company? I believe they can break in to people's cars

Just gotta check

Manic! 07-20-2013 08:39 PM

Call a tow truck. They can open the car for you. Just ask them first to make sure.

jimmyrustler 07-20-2013 08:59 PM

i can open it for you but i get to keep 1 item from your car

^ i've got...a watermelon and 2 sodas in the car. I'm guessing the melon is cold now too :fullofwin:

I think i'll call 911 non emergency and get my watermelon extracted before sunrise.

....or a car unlocking service

XplicitLuder 07-20-2013 09:51 PM

If I was near you I'd use my bcaa on ya ;/ good luck!

Wedge of wood, mallet and a long hanger wire.. takes 5 minutes or less.. (that's how tow trucks do it, though they have plastidipped the wedge of wood first)

RoadStar also offer unlock service.. and so does parking lots eg Safeway etc.

SpeedStars 07-21-2013 01:21 AM

Ended up purchasing BCAA and now waiting to use my roadside assistance... Has anyone used the locksmith/unlocking service they provide? It states that it provides me with a 50 dollar reimbursement, but i've called places today, and they want $100+ :ahwow:

I did the same thing. I had my keys on a lanyard and I grabbed a 24 pack, put it in the truck and slammed the trunk over the lanyard with my keys in there. I was so pissed off I tried pulling the lanyard to get the keys out and it broke lol. Ended up calling CAA.

Got BCAA to do it :alonehappy:

Tried to do coathanger method and it just doesn't work...The edges of my car is sealed tight!

Hopefully you don't drive a BMW. Even if you get into the car, you can't unlock the trunk without the key.

XplicitLuder 07-21-2013 03:04 PM

by his siggy, he drives a prelude

StylinRed 07-21-2013 03:08 PM

How did BCAA open your car door? Did you see? What tools they use haha

SpeedStars 07-21-2013 04:50 PM

^ had like 2 air pumps and a long professional looking coat hanger. Basically pried my window and door open so it had a 1" hole then unlocked me doors.

You're lucky to get your keys back so easily. I was on a BC Ferry one time and a woman discovered, when it was time to disembark, that she had locked her keys in her car. The attending crew member couldn't do anything but the last thing I saw when my line started moving was him handing her a hammer.:lawl:

Change the beginning of my sentence to: "Just be thankful you don't own.."

impactX 07-21-2013 07:51 PM

Just ask to slim jim the car door and once the door is opened, pop the trunk (provided that you did not manually lock the trunk).

604STIG 07-22-2013 09:37 AM

So the big follow up is, have you had a second key made yet?

SpeedStars 07-22-2013 09:45 AM

^yep i've got 3 keys now :fullofwin:
