not just u.s soldiers. american cars are popular with certain groups.. the city i lived in had a couple of escalades, ford rangers, f150s and older cadillacs. all of those drivers were connected to the yakuza, if not directly, they were djs or "rappers" for the music company the yakuza ran in the city. in tokyo its usually rich people who drive the foreign cars as they want to be different from everyone else.

Makes you wonder what technology they have up in space to peer down on us that we don't know about yet.
