I have done very little to this car in terms of modifications. Everything I have done is quite easily reverted.
Straight pipe exhaust - This is a taste thing, I personally love the way the V8 sounds uninhibited, but for some it might be too much. I have all the original mufflers and resonators, and they come with the car. I can have them reinstalled prior to purchase if desired.
M5 xenon headlights - I bought these because I wanted a better looking, yet matching pre-facelift set of xenon headlights. They came out of an extremely low mile 2000 M5, have not been refinished, and they look great. The car did not originally come with xenons or autoleveling, so they are manually aimed, and powered by TRS D2S HID system with OEM Phillips bulbs. They have super sharp OEM cutoff, excellent light output, have brand new adjusters in them, and are plug and play. I will include the original headlights, but I believe the drivers side has a broken horizontal adjuster.
ZHP weighted shift knob - This is pretty minor but its the only other mod I can think of. The original knob comes with the car.
Known Issues:
The previous owner cracked the front bumper at some point. Along with this, the fronts of fender liners are broken too. As a result the exterior temperature sensor doesn't work. I have a brand new sensor and wiring repair kit that I will include with the car. The reason I haven't fixed this is I couldn't make up my mind whether I wanted an M5 bumper, and the liners are different for each. The fender liners are ~$80 a side.
Sunroof won't tilt. This is a very common issue on the E39, the arms just need to be replaced for about $50 per side and is not very difficult to change. I rarely use the sunroof, so it does not bother me.
The right cup holder is broken. Again a very common E39 issue. I wouldn't recommend using these cup holders ever anyway, I know I don't.
This car is in wonderful original shape. It was religiously maintained, and many elements of the car reflect that. The paint does have a few minor blemishes here and there which can easily be improved upon with a quick detail and polish, but is overall very excellent.
Please note these pictures are after a simple wash and a quick vacuum, a proper detail transforms this car.
Asking
$8,000 OBO. Will consider trades for E28s, or other BMWs. Keep in mind I'm looking for something manual, with decent power.
