So this Big Sean record dropped last night and Kendrick Lamar calls out everyone expect, Hov, Nas, 3stacks and Em and calls himself the King of NY.
Quote:
I'm usually homeboys with the same niggas I'm rhymin' wit
But this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you niggas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas
At least he recognizes those on the list as competitors. If you're a rapper and not mentioned I'd be mad. Funny how the song won't make Big Sean's album due to "clearance" issues with the sample. Lupe Fiasco was the only one who was bitter about the verse, he even starts ghost writing for other rappers lol.
"@kendricklamar u my nigga 4 life bro.... But u gon learn today." (Joe Budden's Twitter)
Looking at his twitter, no studios were open today for him. Jesus this is going to be great.
Anyways, all the rappers know what k dot just started. Everyone ain't even hating. Kendrick's verse from this track sparked a new movement imo. Says it in his verse too. Tired of hearing molly this and molly that. Look at the response he's getting. Big props on him. This next week will be great for hiphop.

No ones going to hate because everyone is going to love this challenge. Fuck that southern trap music it's time for some real lyrics to come out and hopefully get away from all of this bs music for a bit.
I think Cole will beat Fabs verse this is so awesome and exactly what hiphop needed right now.
i would be angry that lamar didnt call me out lol, he called out those that are his personal friends haha, and plus he said hes KING OF NY and hes from cali, obv the ny rappers gonna respond

Why are all these people responding to Kendrick if they weren't the ones called out?
Mainly because this is trending like crazy. Rappers with good responses will get more attention and become more popular. It's a good opportunity to flame a rapper and get some credit/respect for those trying to come up. While all the other mainstream rappers will respond as well just to join the hype.
"..I can see why you was reaching for the throne in New York
Ain't nobody repping right, they scared, all talk.."
That was from Astro. Wasn't mind blowing by any means, but it's true. I'm really liking what Kendrick was doing with this. Making it interesting again.
