Fuel Drum Storage Location

Hi folks, a friend and I are looking to drop ship two 55 gallon drums of performance fuel, and we're having a heck of a time finding somewhere to store it. We both live in apartments, and have had no luck finding any alternative places to put it. I've phoned a few local shops but without success yet. We're willing to compensate for the storage of course, and would only need to access it once or twice a month. Any ideas or places you guys might suggest? Thanks as always.

isn't that what storage facilities are for? like public storage?

ScizzMoney 08-17-2013 08:23 PM

^^^
I assume you can't store fuel in public storage. Or corrosive shit etc.

:considered:

How much would compensation be? I have a free space in the corner of my garage... Provided the drums are properly sealed oc.

Buy an RV.

Or even better... build a storage facility beneath a laundry mat, you know, just for storing stuff.

Haha, I'm all for going Walter White, but hoping for a less extreme solution ;)

dared3vil0, I'll shoot you a PM.

dared3vil0 08-17-2013 10:55 PM

I wasn't serious about compensation, if i have the space you could just use it for no charge... I'll get back to you.

TheStig 08-18-2013 10:07 AM

I don't mind, either way it's much appreciated! Let me know :)

dared3vil0 08-18-2013 11:18 AM

No problem, i'll let you know asap. :)

I don't think I'd be so excited to have drums of fuel in my garage that aren't even mine.

Yup, i agree
I wouldn't want the responsibility if someone stole it

TheStig 08-19-2013 01:38 PM

Well, if someone has the strength or dedication to steal a full 55 gallon drum, they probably have earned it ;)

I'd definitely consider a commercial location, and I'm happy to compensate for the privilege, the important thing is just having somewhere to put it.

Stealing it wasn't the first thing on my mind.

Somewhat related to this: Anyone know where can I dispose of empty race fuel drums? I have two 5L VP fuel drums that have been sitting in my patio for months. I have no clue where I can legally dispose of these things.

Since they are the small buggers can't you just go dispose of them where like paint cans and stuff are disposed at the dump?

Thanks...now reading up on Metro Vancouver Recycles - Residential

Looks like Regional Recycling Richmond will do it.

Great question, that's good to know the answer.

fliptuner 08-20-2013 05:00 PM

5L? or 5 gallons?

TheStig 08-20-2013 07:50 PM

I think he meant 5 gallons, I don't believe VP sells 5 litres.
