Always wear shorts around the house. When in my room I take them off. Maybe coz when I was younger I always just rush to the back yard in whatever I was wearing so wearing shorts make sense.

in my own room, i'd just have boxers on
but if i were going out into the kitchen/living room i'd put a pair of shorts on
with just boxers on, however, there's that conspicuous lump
don't know why anyone would put themselves & others in an awkward position like that

i think it's ok and nothing wrong with it, but i think it will subconciously give off the wrong impression of you as a slob. being single and wearing boxers and nothing around the house is fine and i do it, but bachelors are meant to be slobs. but with a family you want to establish yourself as the man of the house, who works hard to contribute to keeping the family going. on the flip side if you're the child of the house (ie live with parents), my dad wore his tighty whities around and it was gross...and hell no i wouldn't want to see my mom or sister in their underwear...so i think everyone should just stay away from underwear only
