	   | Telus Home Phone

I'm currently paying $27 a month for home phone with caller ID and voicemail, is anyone out there paying much less? Does Telus retentions offer any good deals for home lines? Any suggestions/recommendations?
Have considered switching over to the $10 Fido home phone but have heard that the reception/quality isn't that great

Shaw phone $10. Includes caller ID.
If you're ok with some small controller hooked up
 most likely in the garage.

Why not use your cell phone as home phone...... I don't know many ppl at my age group who still uses a home phone.....If you want something cheap try Italk BB. parents have it and is pretty decent for VoIp.

I use Freephoneline.ca - been using it for 3-4 years now, rarely has problems as long as your internet is fine.
I paid a one-time fee, now I don't have to pay a single penny for a home phone line for life.

called in and talked to Telus Retentions last week.. they lowered my price to $15/month.
I believe the reason landline is more expensive than phone lines that requires an internet connection is because if there's a power outage, landline would still work.. where as internet based phone lines will only have 3 hrs or so backup running on battery.

some home insurance coverage might require a land line too.

 | This is because Telus customers have a direct line to the central office (which usually have back up power of some sort). VOIP like Shaw even cannot offer this. That said you still need a corded rotary dial phone. Posted via RS Mobile | | | | | 09-09-2013, 04:49 PM | #9 | | RS.net, helping ugly ppl have sex since 2001
