| Remote Desktop Software help... Background:
Me and my dad run a small home business. He needs help with a lot of the computer based stuff (which is %75 of the work) so I'm usually around to help him normally by doing most of the computer work. Situation:
I am going to be out of town for a few months, and we have just gotten a few more jobs for the next month. He is going to need me to do the computer stuff that I normally do while I am away. What I need:
A software that I can use to access the desktop computer at home from my laptop to help him out while I am away. I am on a Mac OSX laptop and the desktop is running Windows 8 x64. I have bootcamped Windows 7 on my laptop if cross platform software is not available. I am going to need full access to the computer remotely from my laptop, such as hard drives, usb devices, portable hard drives, etc. What program do you guys recommend for this? Free is best if it is available, however I do not mind paying for this. I know there is a bunch of software out there that can do this, but I'm hoping some of you have used them and can have a recommendation for me. I need something solid and that can be used for long periods of time as well.

If you're doing basic stuff, then Chrome is fine. No extra software needed, just the browser and a plugin

I use Cord. Its free and allows me to access windows desktops using RDP from my work Mac Mini.
Teamviewer is good in a pinch but I find it a bit slow.

Since we have so many users we bought the pro version. It's good and lets my coworkers work from home as well
