Best & Cheap Airline to fly to Asia?

What is the best Airline to fly to Vancouver to Vietnam? I'm planning a trip in Dec/Jan.

Where do you guys normally book for cheap flights?

Because that's peak holiday season. It's also cold in much of North America and warm in SE Asia...

my buddy got a flight to vietnam in mid jan for $950 via china southern

Actually Google flights is not the best tool for the job.

You want to check out the ITA Matrix:
Matrix - ITA Software

You can't book flights from there but it's got an excellent calendar function that will let you look at a variety of lengths over a whole month to find the cheapest day to fly.

Just to let you know that China Southern is a terrible airline to fly with out of Vancouver. Bad planes, terrible service and you get ignored if you don't know Mandarin and be willing to use it. I'd pay more and avoid it.

Google flights is also great to find flight costs, it uses the ITA Matrix engine. Lowside67 has great tips.

google owns ITA. They bought them out last year so the results are identical. The thing i hate about google flights is you can't buy the tickets directly from the sight. They make you call the airline but the air line doesn't always honour the price you need to go to the third party seller.
