I need help bypassing the iOS7 activation. I bought this 4s off some Korean chick on kijiji, the phone was out of battery so I just took the phone home thinking everything was good. :okay: So it had a passcode on it and she didn't give me the passcode before she left. Now the previous owner is not picking up her phone... Duh I just bought it of her. So now I restored the phone and got the phone to factory settings but now i'm trying to activate the phone but I need the previous owner's Apple ID to activate is there any way around this? |

Hate to say it but you may have a stolen phone... If there was an easy way to bypass the security on iOS7, then the update wouldn't do much good now, would it? :p |
I'm usually way more careful with buying phone on kijiji. But I'm buying the phone for my uncle and he need the phone ASAP... Now I gotta spend more time figuring out how to get the phone to work. :failed: |
You might have to wait for a jailbreak. |
Do you think if I took the phone to Apple they might be able to help me out? |
No.. but I remember when I had activation issues on my 4S a few years back, jailbreaking bypassed the activation. |
why dont you meet her up and go to Apple together? |
idiots gonna idiot |
IIRC all she have to do is go into iCloud and format and remove the iphone off her list. She doesn't need to give you any password or id. If you can't activate it, there is nothing to be done. |

Realist Randy checking in! OP, who did you steal the phone from? Just be upfront with the Apple store when you go in. If you tell them that you stole it they'll appreciate your honesty and help you out. |
The ios7 security, the only person that can unlock that is the previous owner. Not event the Apple store can help at this point |

Going to lawl so hard when Apple doesn't help you and potentially seizes the phone because it's stolen. |

I love how he made this thread and said he couldn't get a hold of the seller but 4 minutes later when someone else mentioned the seller he was all of a sudden able to get a hold of her. |
i am not familiar with ios7. but can't you just downgrade to ios6 and jailbreak and see if that helps? |
that korean girl better of been hot as fuk... but Kim Jong Un has to buy a used phone off Kijiji? what has the world come to! |
lol who the fuck buys a phone online/locally with a dead battery Bet it was dirt cheap or stolen Or both OP probably bought the phone off a crackhead Posted via RS Mobile |
I was wondering how long it would be before someone on RS asked this very question. Didn't take long, I see. For people buying used iPhones, here's what you need to do: - Go into settings and turn off Find My iPhone (which is also Activation Lock). The seller will need to enter their Apple password to turn this off (PIN doesn't work). - Once it's off, reset/erase the iPhone (takes a few minutes). - When it comes back on, you should be able to enter new credentials instead of having to enter the old users password. If you can't enter new credentials, don't buy the phone. If the user can't turn off Find My iPhone then don't buy it. If you think about it, Activation Lock makes it more likely you're buying a legit phone. If the seller has the correct password to turn off Find My iPhone then they probably are the real owner of the device. |
