Can anyone recommend a good used car dealership?

Hey,

I am new to Vancouver and I am not having too much luck with finding a car. I had thought I had found a car recently but when I got it BCAA inspected it was in a crash and had been pieced back together. They should a government test passing it to try to stop me from getting it tested.

Hesitant to buy private now.

I have about 5K to spend and I am looking for a solid car or 4x4. Have looked at Ford Focus´and Ford Explorers so far.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

can't give you any recommendations on good dealers, but since you're new to the city, stay away from the "no name" shady used car stealerships on kingsway, hastings, and surrey

might want to try contacting lomac for his accord coupe if you're budget is $5k
i dont know the guy personally but he's a mod on here

yeah dont go to shady stealerships

just go to craigslist or something and find one yourself, send it to an inspection and do the carproof search(one that comes with lien search).

don't bother doing CarFax i heard they're only good for cars from the states

used car lots around here can be even shadier than what you just experienced unfortunately, especially in this price range.

i would maybe suggest:

USED Automotive Vehicles For Sale ONLY - Vancouver's Top Classifieds and Automotive Forum - REVscene.net

look for longterm members, not those who only have a few posts and then disappear after they have made a sale. if a member here is dishonest and sells you a bad car i'm sure the RS beatdown crew would serve justice.
