Most company won't rent out yachts for a few hours/ a night. Boats that size usually require at least 5-7 days.

If a grand or two is out of your budget, then maybe its time you start considering other options - such as a speed boat or chartered cruises.

Renting a boat is not cheap.

its really about the money its more about what you get... i was quoted 1500 for 6 hours for a run down looking boat didnt seem like it was worth it just looking for a nice boat

lol there a groupon for night cruise or even dinner/drink. Saw one earlier I think it was $45.

Someone from FB qouted that reads "We spend money we don't even have on things we don't need to show off the people we don't even care." I think this sort of apply to you.

If you don't have a few grand then don't do it. Always plan within your budget.

Marina side pier D / E / F has a multimillion yacht named After Eight. Go by there and see if you work a deal!

dinosaur 10-06-2013 05:01 PM

Also....I hope you aren't doing this boat thing in fall/winter...

We talking Friend-Zone here?

Or do you mean girlfriend? If she's your girlfriend, if you're thinking about marrying the bitch, proposing on a yacht would be pretty rad.

TBH, I'd ditch the idea.

March weather is still pretty miserable....the last thing you want is to rent a "yacht" and cruise the river in the pissing rain for the kick-ass price of $1500.

Interesting thought with good intentions, but the reality of it is a little insane. If you want to drop $1500 on a bish....take her away...take her shopping...do anything but a boat ride in March.

That's why they charge $1500.

dr.funk 10-06-2013 07:50 PM

It was 1500 for 6 hours and there was a captain to sail us around. I just had to bring food and booze

ive had a similar groupon, 4 hour cruise around Vancouver, full dinner, maybe 100 people were on the boat, the boat was pretty decent as well. captain was going down west van and was pointing out which famous person owns which house etc. was awesome, would probably be better than just the 2 of you on a boat.

Agreed.

It's going to be VERY cold with the wind, even at a slow speed.

Is this what she wants?

Did she hint to you about this?

Is she a friend that you hope will become a girlfriend?

In any case, I wish you the best in this little endeavour of yours.
